As an old Bobcat, I hope they make the final 4,and then win state.

Southern knocks off whiteoak tonight. Eastern beat whiteoak 10-0 earlier in the year. Makes me beg the question... why do the coaches continue to vote for whiteoak, clay, etc in the coaches poll but eastern/southern and the tvc hocking can’t even get a vote? Just curious because the Hocking has proven to be the better league time and time again.

Do their coaches send information in to the voters to vote on? I’m sure Eastern’s coach has enough experience to know to do it. That’s the only way that a coach would know enough about them to vote for them.

Whiteoak also beat Eastern when it really mattered last year, so that could always be on voter’s minds.

I wonder what pitchers Southern used tonight and will any of them maybe be needed vs Green. I think it was an 8 inning game so likely used 2+ pitchers.

I’m simply not familiar on how many different pitchers each of these teams left have that are actually usable for district play and beyond.

Southern winning by 1 run in 8 innings when neither team threw their best is hardly indicative of not voting for Whiteoak or Clay. Whiteoak typically schedules to the level of their team and their non league the last three years has been one of the toughest in D4. Southern for the bigger part of almost two decades was the cream of the crop in D4 along with some of the other TVC schools. Baseball in General is all about the pitching matchup. Will be interesting to see who comes out of the D4 district. The upper bracket with Whiteoak, Waterford, Huntington and eastern is a gauntlet in my opinion. I like Southern’s chances winning the lower part. Good luck to all teams!

10-run rule is invoked, Southern blanks Green.

Green looked like they are a pretty solid team. Just threw the ball around the field too much and gave Southern several free bases that turned into runs. Then Southern took advantage of what Green gave them and added more with their bats. Green put the bat on the ball but Southern's defense didn't make the same mistakes. The teams that throw it and catch it the best are typically the teams that win.
