Re: 2019-2020 Jackson Ironmen
Lose a lot but return some good players and had an 18-2 JV team that will have kids that will fill big a small roles on next year’s team.
Key returning players with good varsity experience:
PG Caleb Wallis....one of the top point guards around and will be a senior. Signed to University of Rio Grande. 2nd team all-district
C Treylan Davis... skilled 6’5 kid will be a junior SM all-District this year
G/F Brice Graham...a 6’0 senior to be and will be an 11 or 12 letter kid by graduation. Valedictorian and smart/strong athlete that has been in the rotation forever.
F Braxton Hammond....long defender that will be a 6’3 junior
F Caden Donaldson....athletic defender that is getting some big D1 volleyball looks and hopefully he plays. Excellent defender for the Ironmen the past two seasons. Would be a 6’2 senior.
Kids who played some varsity but will be needed to step up and into big positions:
5’11 shooting guard Griffin Brown will be a Sr, excellent shooter
5’10 Ethan Green....senior to be plays G/F. Top notch kid coming off a tough knee injury. Hopefully he can return and provide depth and leadership
6’1 Evan Spires ...the sophomore to be is smooth and does everything well.
6’2 Drew Bragg...fought illness and injury but kid can play, like Spires can do it all, also a sophomore to be
5’8 Holden Blankenship....backup PG also a sophomore to be and kid won’t back down.
5’10 guard Boston Kuhn...will be a junior and had a great JV season and can hit big shots
6’0 Landon Erwin...junior to be was big defender and spot scorer for JV
6’0 Caleb Hutchison...athlete who can guard, slasher on offense. Focusing on basketball and playing AAU now. Will be a junior
Keep eye on:
6’1 Nate Woodard, sophomore to be and not done growing. Long and really knows how to score. Son of firmer SEOAL MVP Willie Woodard. Won’t be surprised if he’s 6’3+ next year

Zane Trace will kill everyone next year but a lot of D2 teams lost a lot
Re: 2019-2020 Jackson Ironmen
... ZT returns a ton, but there are other programs who had youngin's developing/getting varsity PT this past season who WILL be much improved ready for THEIR return to where we are used to seeing them in the rankings Logan Elm, Fairfield Union WILL be outstanding (even losing Conley at PG/ moving Magill to a 6-4'ish pg will be awesome for FU) ... Unioto will be back to 15-17 win season (not like the 19-20 win seasons LOL BUT much closer !) ... Circleville WILL BE improved with their pair of super sophs from this season ! , New Lex will be much improved with their youngsters getting this season to get their feet wet , Sheridan loses a bunch BUT they return Luken Hill (6-5)/Landen Russell both outstanding parts to build around, look for Warren to BE BACK with a BIG man in the middle next season - Jake Baumgard (6-5 and growing in the paint)... with length Chevalier/Place/Colgrove add Simonette & Dennis as starters off of the BBB Convo district entry of this year ... Jackson will be fine ! anytime you have Coach Morrow & Co. teaching the game & Caleb Wallis to build a TEAM around at your PG position - life is good !!! ... add Treylan Davis as your big in the paint - good things happening with those 2 PLUS Spires/Bragg/Hammond ... Spires/Bragg will only be sophs next season too !!! got to find the offense to replace the like of Cooper Donaldson BUT I feel there IS the talent on the returning Ironmen to step up for THEIR time to shine ! ... those are the D2's who WILL BE BETTER next season guaranteed ...Raider6309 wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2019 2:53 pm Zane Trace will kill everyone next year but a lot of D2 teams lost a lot

Jacob Winters dominated a good bit on the 10-8 8th grade team. He’s a big strong kid pushing 6’2. I believe he’s football first. I assume and hope he plays basketball. Not sure he’ll be a varsity rotation player next year...but he’s an impressive athlete.

I heard the other day that ZT possibly could be moving D3 next year. I could have heard wrong but seemed like a reliable source.Raider6309 wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2019 2:53 pm Zane Trace will kill everyone next year but a lot of D2 teams lost a lot

Well, they could be in the same boat as Wheelersburg and have to beat a very good Central District Team, usually Harvest Prep or Affrecentric

Don't sleep on Waverly in division 2. wont be as good defensively. no way to replace Remington and Marquez defense. however will be better offensively. Robertson another year in which he may become the best player in southern ohio. Bigs is Smallwood, Shanks, Brown and Futhey. Another great guard in Stulley. Add in the athleticism of Shoemaker and Wolfe and Waverly will be right in the running for the SOC 2 and the district Title.

Re: 2019-2020 Jackson Ironmen
Question. When did the ironmen move to Zane Trace?
I asked about Jackson, I could careless about how good Zane Trace will be! If I wanted to read about ZT I'd probably open a forum on them

Wow. More talk on here about ZT than Jackson. I don’t think raider is a ZT fan. Anyways, Jackson had a very good year. They were fun to watch . I don’t think their team will be as good as this past year but they still will be good. Wallis is a very very good ball player and they will put people around him to win again ..

My apologies about posting about waverly as well. Should have been on a different thread. Jackson will be very good next year. Lose some main pieces, however as already stated have lots coming up from JV and Freshman.

I watched summer league tonight. Jackson looked really good 7 deep and didn’t have Treylan Davis
Freshman Winters probably will be in there. He showed useable parts and didn’t back down from anything.
Re: 2019-2020 Jackson Ironmen
Jackson goes 5-1 tonight at Adena
Beat Adena 2x, beat Miami Trace 2x and then split with FU
8 kids saw a lot of playing time and without Davis, Bragg and Blankenship
Jackson now 13-1 on the summer
