Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
WOW!!
Thanks C-BOLT. Definitely a classic shaped supercell with a funnel/vortex dropping out of it. How far from the lake, Bait? Whoever took these, the Weather Channel or any TV news station would show these pic's on their stations if sent to them. Might pay them for these great shots. Very clear quality shots. Lucky/right place/right time. Hard to get shots like these, because they are usually rain blinded in some situations.

Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
these were actually around the Huntington huntsmen high school in the other part of pike county. the previous ones that pam cutler shared went right across the lake in front of our place, and I missed it, my wife saw it though. but it flew over without touching down. so we had 2 in pike county in 2 days. but by the GRACE OF GOD THEY NEVER TOUCHED DOWN. and my grand daughter was here both nights , so I feel very blessed.

Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
Inches Lake White is down by Waverly. Since you from NE Ahia not sure you ever heard of that but it's a little south of Chillicothe and everybody knows where that is. What did they catch that bass on bait ? Hopefully they didn't catch it on a spawning bed. I hate that! Bass should off limits during that time.

I don't know. next time I'm over to bill's baithouse i'll ask them. nothing wrong with catching bedding bass, just turn them back loose. so their nest does not get pillaged by crappie or bluegill. always the best chance at a lifetime biggest catch while on the nest. we used to use a piece of alka seltzer on a hook. make a small hole with a toothpick for the hook. and they go apecrap. it's panda leeria. but we always turned them right back loose. I said that wrong, I didn't do that. ummmmmmmm I mean I know a guy that did. yeah, that's it see. I knew a guy that did. did I just say that out loud.cbolt wrote: Wed Jun 19, 2019 2:22 pm Inches Lake White is down by Waverly. I don't think its against the law in this state but some places it is. It seems like cheating because the bass are not hungry striking at bait they are just protecting their brood and will strike at anything close by. Did they turn that one back? Sometimes fish wont survive after being thrown back in because of the stress of the fight depleting them of oxygen and being out of the water for awhile. Also if they lose their slime from being handled too much it kills them. At least that is what a local bait shop owner once told me. Bait you ever tried WD-40 on a lure? I have read it attracts fish like crazy but have never tried it. I guess it's the fish oil in it that attracts them. Not sure that is legal either but I bet plenty have tried it. It would probably pollute the water if too many did that. Update I just read where it's a myth that WD-40 contains fish oil. So maybe the whole thing was concocted by somebody who just bought stock in them Lol

Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
it's a myth about a couple of things here. I have seen bass released on camera and they'll go right back to their nest. I have seen them tagged. and go right back to a specific nest marked by a gps location on tv. where we mess up as fisherman is with like bass tournament's. instead of having an official in each bassboat. when a bass is caught, snap a picture, weigh and release. that way the bass goes straight back to it's nest. then you take the 5 highest weights and see the total. instead bass are caught, and in live wells for hours on end , then hauled countless miles around the lake, then turned loose at a boat ramp after a weigh in. many too stressed to make it at that point. actually not many people eat bass anyway being a prized fish to catch. they are typically turned right back loose. but bass fisherman will sometimes spend hours tempting a bass on a nest to bite trying to catch a trophy bass. as far as the wd40. yes I have sprayed a tiny bit on bait fishing for carp in the ohio river as a young bait. heck we didn't know any better, we were told it worked. you may think I'm lying, but when me and my buddy greg ainsworth were 7/8/9 years old. we would go to the ohio river bank. and catch carp. and some ole black men from ironton would buy it off me n ains for a buck a pound. we were swimming in money. I'm still using fishing equipment we bought with that money and I'm 58. I would never use the wd40 now though. but it did work for carp. otherwise I've never tried it.cbolt wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2019 1:18 pmYOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2019 8:25 amI don't know. next time I'm over to bill's baithouse i'll ask them. nothing wrong with catching bedding bass, just turn them back loose. so their nest does not get pillaged by crappie or bluegill. always the best chance at a lifetime biggest catch while on the nest. we used to use a piece of alka seltzer on a hook. make a small hole with a toothpick for the hook. and they go apecrap. it's panda leeria. but we always turned them right back loose. That's interesting bait. I always thought about using it on some spinner baits at a local lake around here but never got around to doing it. As for carp them things are hosses when it comes to reeling them in. I probably played against that guys brother in the 80's. I think his name was Ryan.

Re: INFORMATION ON LAKE WHITE.
I spoke with some guys fishing in a tourney here Wednesday. they said if you ain't got a 5/6 pounder in the boat you ain't got a chance here in the tourney, so that's great news.
