OSU site reporting hospice brought in for Stefanie Spielman

Post by Orestes »

As many know she has been battling cancer both personally and through her foundation for a while now. Apparently the situation is looking very bleak. I was concerned when Chris was not doing a game this weekend.

Please keep the Spielman family in your prayers, as both Stephanie and Chris are great (and I actually mean great) people.

It shows how highly people think of them when the announcers for the OSU/Wisconsin game (Sean McDonough and Matt Millen) nearly broke down in tears talking about the two of them.

This is from the post I read on the OSU site:

This is so sad; pretty much brings me to tears.

I worked with the Spielmans on two breast cancer awareness campaigns when I was with the state health department. Two finer folks you'll never meet.

Her efforts and courage have probably helped save thousands of lives. I would hope God has a special place in heaven for her.

Their family is always in my prayers,
Chris is my favorite Buckeye ever, and will never be replaced at that spot.
For what he did as a play, and for what he gave up in the NFL to
be with his wife.

I have been married since I was 22, and my wife has dealt with her own cancer
for the entire time. I am inspired as a husband by the actions that Chris takes to
help Steph.

My wife, even though having a different cancer than Stephanie, has been impacted by
the monitary donations and social awareness, brought forth by the Spielman family.

Their work and influence will be felt forever in Columbus and around the world.
I pray for Stephanie, and the family that the strength that they have been so blessed
with will be magnified in this their greatest time of need.

My prayers to Steph, Chris and the family. I have always been a big fan of his. I have a #54 Browns Spielman tshirt from the '99 Hall of Fame game in Canton. I remember being in Homestead a few years ago and read a great story about Chris and Rick's dad being a high school asst. near Miami when Rick was w/ the Dolphins. It was a great read. Praised Mr. Spielman for all he did for the young men there, volunteering and helping so many. What a great family, so strong and genuine. God Bless

Prayers go out for the family. When my father passed away at 48 with cancer a pastor I used to ref with once told me the ultimate healing for God's believers was death. We don't always see it that way, but it did help me.

This sure makes people think with the little game coming up this weekend.
The Spielman's have shown how a family can be there for each other during tough times. Their faith and extended family will comfort them as her memory will never fade.

Their extended family is a huge one.

A whole lot of people have had their lives affected by the
research and awareness that Steph brought about.
