New Enrollment Numbers for 2019

Post by 4thgoal »

The new base enrollment numbers have been released. Obviously, until we see the competitive balance numbers, we won't know for sure, but does anyone see any changes for the 2019 season coming?

Chillicothe COULD move down. Alexander COULD move up. Both will be close, but still need to see the CB numbers of course.

Be nice if Alexander drops to D3. Get Athens and Alexander in the regional finals

No Divisional Assignments Announced Yet?
I realize that football probably needs to know divisional alignments as soon as possible for scheduling purposes as they have to qualify for the OHSAA tourney; and who you play is important for regional placement, so they were released last week.
But wonder why all Fall sports could not have been released as well...

OHSAA posted the regional match ups for Soccer 2019.
Boys
Division II will have 1 team to regional and will head to play Southwest 2 District Winner
Division III will have 2 teams to regional and play each other in Regional Semi Final. That winner will play winner of Central 1 Winner and East District Winner.

Girls
Division II and III will each have 1 winner to regional and will play the Central District Winner in the Regional Semi Finals.

Girls continue to get screwed and have to play the central, while the east district gets to send 1 of their 2 to regional finals again.

While I agree that certain years regional final (should have been) matchups occur in the earlier rounds of most all sports tournaments, but any team that doesn't make it out of a district with only one regional qualifier is in fact not going to be the best team in the regional?

And according to this... https://www.ohsaa.org/Portals/0/Sports/ ... ntDraw.pdf, there has been a restructuring to Region 7 DII, the East will only have one qualifier as well.

1C, 1E, 1SE, 1NE

This may be due to the large amount of divisional reassignments.

I noticed in that link that D3 girls from the SE will only have 1 regional qualifier now and the Canton district winner is in there.

If the east only has one then I'm ok with it. I assumed that were again getting 2 and getting to play each other like they have been.

I'm not certain, but I believe that the last several years the East had 17 D2 schools and the SE had 16? That may have been the reason...and now with New Philly moving to D1, and the NE maybe gaining some teams they restructured the region?

Unfortunately, lately it doesn't seem to matter who hits the final against the Central, they struggle in D2.

Rosecrans in D3 though is solid enough in their division to break through past the regional.

The central will always be tough. We have played them tough in a couple games, but others have not been competitive. Hopefully we break through soon!
