Any info on how the 7th & 8th grade football teams look?
I heard both West and Minford have great talent in both grades

Find out which team has the hairiest kid running the ball. That will be your front runner.

Jackson 8th should be a good team this year.....loaded with talent......gets a big test right out of the gate with burg......if not mistaken I believe the irnmen beat burg a couple times last year as 7th.....the 7th grade nubers are down some but should be competitive for the most part......

They are. Northwest 8th is also solid.

Trimble 18
Nelsonville 14

Trimble dominated the line of scrimmage. Total team effort. Great coaching adjustments. The kids just refused to lose.

If there is a Ranking for 8th in our area based on last year:
Jackson
Minford
West
Burg
Northwest
Ironton

From what I've seen so far West 7th and 8th grade is the real deal.

Indeed. This group is 25-1 over the last 3 years.

Switch Minford and West and I'd say West would give Jackson all they wanted.

Burg's 8th has gotten better. They had a kid come out that didn't play last year that's helped them on both sides of the ball. Big test for them this week against a strong jackson team.

Haven't seen Jackson. I would put West above Minford also.

I wish we had some 15 year olds at Northwest. Isn't the rule, if your 15 before school starts your not eligible. Northwest has a bad habit of talking parents into starting their kids young. Our starting Qb on the Varsity is a sophomore and just turned 15 the end of july.

It's my understanding that west has a kid who was old for a seventh grader last year, like old for an eighth grader. I know he looked real hairy.
