Really don't understand why the burg didnt go out and challenge themselves with their schedule this year. Coming off an 18-2 season, I figured they'd beef up the schedule.

With 10 conference games, it limits your scheduling. Alexander, North Adams, and Zane Trace are good opponents. The OVC schools are really the only question marks, but at the same time, those make sense geographically. Being located at the very south edge of the SE district makes travel times an issue as well. Burg is 53-4-3 over the past 3 seasons (3 of those losses were in the regionals), so the schedule is working. Keep in mind, the girls program has only existed 5 years.

They challenge themselves as best they can. 10 conference games doesn’t allow much wiggle room.

10 conference games is brutal.. that sucks. However, they played so well last year, I'd have tried to really go out and challenge them. Challenge the way say unioto or fairfield union is doing with their schedule.

I'm certainly not badmouthing them or the kids.. just like to see coaches put their kids in challenging games and test them to get better.

It really boils down to the same thing I've always said on here (though under a diff name, but cant log in with it)... I want to see the SE finally rise up and beat the central. Dont even care who does it, I just wanna see it. The more these teams challenge themselves, the better those chances become.

In 2016, Lynchburg made it to the final 4 by beating Rosecrans, who knocked off Columbus academy in the regional semi. That year LC handled Burg easily in their regional semi. The following year LC also beat Burg in the regional semi, but that was a 1-0 game with their lone goal coming about 75 min into the game. Burg finally got over the hump and beat LC in the district final last year.

This year Burg moves up to D2 (hopefully for just one season ) so we will see how that turns out.

That 2016 win by LC was one I did not see coming.. I remember that. I thought rosecrans had a chance to get to the final that year.

D2 is not gonna be fun to get through with chilli, unioto, and Fairfield U all waiting.

Very true, but that’s why you play the games.

I dont buy it. With that record, theres no reason that they couldn't find better competition. The OVC is getting better, but its not even close to preparing any team for elite competition. Apparently ZT isn't great this year either with a 4-0 loss. The WV schools aren't much further than OVC and the all have 1,000+ kids.

Nope Z.T. isn't that good this year, if wasn't for their main player they wouldn't have even score a goal this year.. They completely lost their defense line. They lost 7 or 8 seniors with 5 of those seniors were starters. It's very embarrassing for the girls ( only 4 girls on their team that is actually good players ) that are pretty good on their team. Z.T. main player played club with 5 of burgs players from last year and 3 or 4 this coming year.
