I'll just say, RV is stronger and faster than people think. Good luck Raiders.

Re: Week 1: River Valley @ Coal Grove
I wouldn’t necessarily say RV had a coaching problem. They have a lot of talent on that field. However, they are very undisciplined! If they can calm their attitudes some and cut the penalties they will start seeing wins!
Re: Week 1: River Valley @ Coal Grove
Rv is very young..have a lot of talent but consistency is the main problem here..cola grove was a force tonight and that rain delay plus Lucas wanting a full halftime was a bit obsurd...had a few injuries but hopefully they get it it turned around..congrats to grove
Re: Week 1: River Valley @ Coal Grove
Coaching is not the problem? Are you kidding me? The offensive side of the ball is embarrassing. Incompetent. Throwing a bubble on the goal line, from under center? Really. The kid got smashed and they handed CG 7. Talent is NOT the problem. How do you have all off season to fix an offense maybe averaging 7 points a game since you took over and this is what you come up with? 6 points vs RH in Jamboree, 0 points vs CG.
Now defense, since that’s their specialty right? Their alignment and technique was so bad against the spread, a Lucas ran team stayed in the spread for the majority of the 2nd half.. Again a LUCAS RAN TEAM stayed in the spread the majority of the 2nd half. Enough said. Too easy.
Poor kids. They deserve better.

Um... those are exactly the things that coaching is supposed to take care of...
Now... I’m not agreeing that those are an accurate assessment of the RV situation.
But coaching HS football ain’t like playing Madden and just picking magical plays.
Re: Week 1: River Valley @ Coal Grove
Yes coaching SHOULD correct that, but no matter how well the coach does with any team, he can’t control a kid grabbing a face mask or talk back to refs. How many yards did they lose to that tonight? It will be his job to correct it for future games. The kids did have a very bad attitude tonight which hurt only them. I’m by no means defending the coaching, I’m a Grove parent. I was just stating an opinion on what I saw. Some talented kids that lost their cool and it hurt them out on the field...good luck the rest of the season.madpolecat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 9:55 amUm... those are exactly the things that coaching is supposed to take care of...

Aren’t all the coaches and the AD county school grads?
That should tell you something.
That’s the very definition of inbreeding, which doesn’t usually work out too well.
