Jackson defense was crazy good. Alot of people getting after their offensive line but I thought they were good enough. The one possession they had 3 in the backfield and ran it all the way down the field without much resistance but then fumbled deep. No other drive did they try that set????? I begrudgingly went cause I thought Jackson would win by 40. The team I watched looks like a 6-4 team but like Wellston if figure out offense could win most games with that defense. Does Jackson usually have 30 non players or coaches on their sidelines? It looked like they ran out of seating and just had overflow crowd stand on Jackson sideline haha
Rowdy’s was good!
The offensive line will always be the scape goat for all issues. Do the need to improve? Yes . Are they good enough to win games in southern Ohio ? Yes. If you have to have a line full of 4 star players to win then you won’t be very successful. Jackson left 21 points on the field . Pick 6 called back for a crackback block , twice Jackson had the Ball inside the 20 and couldn’t score. Once it was 3rd and 4 at the 18 and we 2 throw 2 passes into the corner of the end zone. Very low chance of those working . Another time Jackson went to its traditional T formation and ran in down the field to the 8-9 yard line and fumbled . Jackson had 340 total yards to 48 for Wellston. Just can’t keep shooting yourself with turnovers. 2 fumbles , 1 for a touchdown and 2 picks . The fake punt on 4th and 19 was atrocious. Fortunately Jackson has a super fast defense , and all 3 units are good . The defensive line gets off blocks and gets to the QB fast , the linebackers and ends are fast and aggressive. With a good defense it’s ok to move the chains and punt if needed . Yes Jackson ran it down Wellstons throat in the T one drive and that was it. Plenty of things to clean up on offense. The line needs to get better each week if that means trying new players out then so be it. Too many drops by the receivers , catch the football . The backs need to take care of the Ball , too many fumbles and interceptions . Your all seniors protect that football. All offensive units need work . Go back to work Monday and get better . This may be a team that wins 21-7 but the main goal is win each week .
