Not really an upset . Jackson’s defense is stout, but the offense has no identity whatsoever. This game will come down to turnovers . I’ll take Jackson 21-20.

I’ll be highly disappointed if Jackson defense gives up 35 points. I guess you could get a defensive TD and special team TD but 35 seems high to me.

At Athens I’ll guess Athens by 9. Something like 22-13

I’m not sure where to go on this one. Athens will have more to show Jackson on offense than Wellston but Jackson’s defense looked really good and focused. I’ll guess Athens will watch our film and have some screens ready and some trickery deep. Our youthful defensive backfield bit on some stuff during scrimmages but kept receivers in front pretty well against Wellston.

Offensively I just don’t know what to expect. Will we pass 25 times? Will we go with 3 backs in the backfield? Will we show things not seen in week 1? Guessing some of all 3.

If we have a lot of turnovers and penalties....0% chance we win at Athens. Athens will be game and ready. This is a monster game for their players and coaches. They are gonna want this one extra. This will be a tough road game....if Jackson wants to win the FAC and get to playoffs, this game will show if it’s gonna happen with this team.

The only time Athens beats a school their size in the last 30-35 years is when they have OU coaches kids as qb's. (i.e., Lichtenburg, Burrow)......... and them running from the SEOAL lead to It's demise and left Gallipolis, Jackson, Logan and Warren completely out on an island by themselves . I'll take the Red & White in this one regardless......... and no, I was not always an Athens hater. I remember when they were very good in the 60's and early 70's playing in the SEOAL and actually winning championships playing in the big boys league. Ok, off my bandwagon now and go Ironmen.

Athens has the tools to score a lot but Jackson will be able to run all night against Athens. Jackson defense is way better than what the Bulldogs are putting on the field.

Another really good game on tap for week 2, Athens really got gashed last week against the run and were shut out in the 2nd half against Waverly. Jackson was one of my teams on the 10-0 watch list so I'm going to stick with them on this one, Jackson by 10.

Jackson gets Senior Brice Parks back Friday . Brice is a heat seeking missle and will add to what has been a smothering defense during Jackson’s scrimmages and week 1. Hope that continues.
