comparing scores... LOL

It's not just comparing scores. I watched every minute of both games, and there is just no comparison between OSU and UC.

OSU dominated Illinois in every way imaginable. Illinois could do nothing on offense. Nothing. On offense, OSU attempted one pass in the first half, then tossed a handful of short passes in the second half for the work. In the end, Illinois was shut out, and OSU scored 30 while running clock and running the ball. Illinois couldn't breathe.

On an OSU board this past week, a guy who has contacts within UC stated that Kelly was planning to score as much as possible on Illinois in hopes of impressing voters. This guy has been spot on in the past, and said to take UC and the points because Kelly wanted a bloodbath even if it meant tacking on late TDs in the fourth. So, UC tries to destroy Illinois as best as they can, and they manage to win 49-36, and let's face it, Gilyard did not catch that last TD pass. His foot was out of bounds, but we have all seen how the Big East takes care of their top team each season.

OSU toys with Illinois like a controlled scrimmage and wins 30-0 in a shut out.

UC tries to make a statement to get some votes over TCU, and plays a closely contested shootout that gets them 12 more OFFENSIVE points than OSU put up on Illinois by running every play.

And it isn't just OSU and Big Ten homers that think so. Gary Danielson, who is a SEC shrill to the max, was asked on Dan Patrick today who he would put behind Florida, Alabama, and Texas. He answered Ohio State. He said they have improved dramatically since the middle of the season, and that they proved their worth by sweeping a very tough November. He noted that PSU on the road takes its toll, and you carry that toll into the Iowa game. Iowa bruises you and drains you emotionally, then you play a Michigan team that is doing anything to salvage their season and possibly their program. He pointed out that most people look at big wins in isolation, but putting them back to back to back is the true test of a team's worth. In other words, many teams can get up and play for one big game, and then rest for two weeks before playing another team with a pulse.

Not to mention that the OSU/Illinois game was in a Monsoon during the first half.

I know because I'm still wet from sitting in C Deck.

You could barely see the field at times during that game.
