Guess you like running clocks huh?

Not really . Tell me about em .
Ironton scheduled up when they had the gut, the nut, & the ability to contend for the W.
& it's a fair jab. Over and over during late july & into August we heard all about 5 QB's deep & blistering team speed. Experienced and deep at the LOS. Athletes in abundance. I don't really care how any of you from any side feel about it. When you blow gas & then ya get punked two weeks in a row, you get to be the heal. Stop boucing checks.CavalierAlum05 wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 10:29 pmBobbbbbb wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 5:58 pmJust pray you show up on the thread, after our game with you next season!CavalierAlum05 wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 11:50 am Remember when Burg thought this was a good idea a couple years ago? lol
just pray that no one gets hurt.
So because I make fun of Burg fans means I have a great football program I root for? I took a jab at your arrogance.
At the moment they are 0 - 2 going into week 3 vs 3 - 0 Ashland. The past is the past. Only as good as the last game you play. For now, the only thing Burg is or has been, is a punching bag for southern and northern Ohio. It is what it is. Stop gassing a team that has been outscored darn near 80 - 12 in Ohio. Skin is way too thin in this fan base. Best at what?kantucky wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 6:00 pm Pulling for the Pirates big time. At the moment, they're still the best program in southern Ohio.
Hate to throw a monkey wrench into your well thought out idea here, but you do realize that schedules and series with teams are done sometimes, 2-3-4 years in advance?? Meaning the new coach and AD would have little to nothing to do with this years schedule, so these small steps you speak of would've been put into place before the new guys came along. It's not because they came along that they've made out the schedule to do what you laid out there. Now let's start seeing how that schedule works come next year and the years after to see what they think of their team and how they want to run it. In terms of playing Bishop Hartley, sorry but for most teams in this area there just isn't much need to put them on the schedule. I mean you look at the burg last year, in a year they went to the state semifinal game they were still beaten with a running clock. Burg scheduled up in a year they had a very good team in 2018 so they planned accordingly it's just that most schools want that 2 year deal home and away series so it caught them this year. No harm in scheduling up but schedule up accordingly.Tjhtygeverve wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 1:39 amIronton scheduled up when they had the gut, the nut, & the ability to contend for the W.
The burg has been really good.
The best for a while, but I cannot see any benefit to this series with Hartley!
The injuries make the basis for my statement.
They are FACTS!
Ironton has the right coach & AD In place to build within a competitively growing Tri-State high school football pool, not get slaughtered because of a down year, & still build for conference and possible playoff contention.
PenTon & FighTing Tiger crew have started with small steps after a good playoff game last year.
They’ve incorporated reasonable and smart steps to reach attainable goals.
Small, medium & large goals!
They must accomplish many small goals, to move to the medium goal, to reach the large goal!
They control each accomplished goal each week with being competitive and growing & the goals become fulfilled each week.
Nowadays, all of those goals can be accomplished in their backyard river yard & along SEO 52.
Just enough preparation for final goals.
OVC
Playoffs & run thereafter!.
Smart stuff!
No running clock needed!!!

I think you know all about them.your...love to see Ironton and Hartley, wow !...NO YOU WOULDN'T!
Tjhtygeverve wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 11:04 pmSorry to hear about more injuries.yabbadabbadoo wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2019 10:53 pm Hartley looked like a small college team. Very big O-line and very speedy backfield. They will make some noise come playoff time. There defense was just as strong as I would venture to guess there first team defense held Burg to minus yards.
Tough on Burg when they lost another starter early on in Hunter Ruby. Wouldn’t of mattered but you hate to see Seniors or anyone for that matter go down that early. Burg had a few nice defensive plays but just way to much speed to catch up to.
Burg will right the ship hopefully next week. Got to see some new runners (Swords being one) that ran really hard. Will be another tough one but a winnable game for Burg.
Good luck against AshLand.
wont beat portsmouth with this team.....FANOSPORTS wrote: Sun Sep 01, 2019 1:23 am Hartley will win easily and Ashland should beat them the next week. Burg should still win the conference barring anymore injuries to key players in the next couple weeks. If Mathews returns later in the year I would think by that time the QB situation would be resolved and he would not be put in harm's way at that position but the coach will decide that. He's only around 5'9" and a buck 70 anyway and it don't take a rocket scientist to figure out who the other team is coming after first if he's back there taking the snaps. If a freshman or sophomore has to step it up at that position it is trial by fire but they'll get the experience early. They definitely layed an egg in the first half friday night and this week won't be any better. We'll see how they progress before playoff time .
Trust me you wouldn’t

Wow , more arrogance . Even after 3 blow out losses in a row you are still taking jabs at other schools. Again I would just try and get better with Ashland coming up.Burg_Grad_77 wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:07 am Burg hasn't played Portsmouth in years. Kudos to Hartley for showing class . Could’ve been 100-0.Mad-Dogg wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:16 am68-14 according to burgfootballBurg_Grad_77 wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:07 am Burg hasn't played Portsmouth in years.
