IMO, Alabama is hungrier than Texas and they will prove it.

I love this matchup can't wait to watch this game my prediction will have to wait I've gotta think bout this one
Re: Alabama vs Texas National Championship game
Texas should have beaten Nebraska by much more because Nebraska is not on their level.
McCoy's clock management at the end nearly cost them the game. The officials got it right though. I really think Texas was tight against the Huskers all night long. If the Huskers are that good why were they 9-3 coming into the game? Glad to see Suh get a Heisman bid.
Alabama is playing like a team that is loose and confident. They knew they were going to beat the Gators, they didn't hope they would.
Bama's victory over Florida was impressive. Texas dodged a bullet and everybody is more impressed with Nebraska instead of the Longhorns.
Bama is better.

Since when is 9-3 not good? Nebraska is not elite level yet, but it is funny how Pitt is a much better team at 9-3 then Nebraska despite losing to freaking NC State earlier in the season. Pitt is an average team playing in an average conference. Nebraska was a play away from being 10-3 and Big 12 Champs. News flash---Bama was a blocked fg and a late game ralley away from being a two loss team. Maybe you and many have forgotten that the week prior Auburn should have beaten Alabama. LSU had a shot to beat Bama. Bama has had plenty of close calls and are beatable.
I'll give Bama props they certainly looked very good against Florida, but that means 0 now. Both teams will be given a month to prepare and rest up. What happened over a month ago when they kick it off in Pasadena will mean nothing.

Totally agree
I even said after the SEC title game..."Man, we suck."...I had already disregard the 22 game winning streak and blah blah blah...I realized what I said and then changed it to..."That...or Bama is really, really good."

Alabama will win this one. FT45, Florida is not that bad, Alabama wanted it more. I think you call it being hungry. I wouldn't mind seeing Alabama and Florida again in the NC. Now what do you think?
Re: Alabama vs Texas National Championship game
Why is Pitt and the Big East being pulled into this?
We all know Pitt was overrated and with coach Wanstashe they would find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Texas gave up 39 to Texas A&M. The same A&M team that had a 6-6 record.
Lets not forget that Texas squeaked by a Sam Bradfordless Oklahoma team with a 4th quarter field goal to win 16-13. If not for that, they would be a 1 loss team.
Nebraska is not on the same level as Texas and the game should not have been that close. Give Nebraska some props, they played to win and had their ears laid back, Texas didn't. If it weren't for Nebraska kicking the ball out of bounds inside the 10 yard line on the kickoff after taking the lead in the 4th with 1:44 left and giving Texas the ball on the 40 via the penalty and then a 15 yard penalty with a horse collar tackle on the next play, Texas doesn't get into field position to kick the game winner with 1 second left. Texas becomes a 2 loss team.
The point is almost every undefeated team has those types of games. However, both of Texas's games like this were in their backyard, Dallas Texas.
Alabama is playing with more confidence than Texas and the results from this weekend's games for both Texas and Alabama prove it. Alabama had the tougher game of the two and performed better. They beat the #1 team in the nation by nearly 3 TDs, 32-13. Texas squeaked by the #20 team in the nation, 13-12.
It all comes down to who is playing the best ball and it is Alabama. Things may change between now and game day but the spread has Alabama is giving Texas 5 1/2 points. I think this is based on an entire season's body of work for both teams.

Re: Alabama vs Texas National Championship game
I do not disagree that they did not play well. Point and case is they won---period.
Both the games you mentioned in the regular season were rivalry games and you know how those go, hince the reason I am more willing to forgive Alabama for nearly losing to Auburn.
At this point Alabama is playing better, but right now means nothing in a month.
If you want to comapare last minute wins then Bama had to get by UK, Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn.

Re: Alabama vs Texas National Championship game
I'll concede the Tennessee, LSU and Auburn points you make.
However, by no means was the win over Kentucky considered a "last minute win." Bama led 21-7 at the half (I know they got a gift fumble recovery for a TD with less than 30 seconds left before halftime and UK played them even for most of the first half) but Bama scored 10 points in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd to increase the lead to 31-7. Both teams traded touchdowns later in the 3rd but UK never got closer than the final score difference of 18 at anytime in the 2nd half. The Tide applied the pressure to the neck of the Wildcats, like most top teams do, and dictated the course of the game from the last minute of the 1st half through the end of the game.
As much as I hate to say this, but Bama's schedule (and the close games) vs Texas' schedule, has made Bama a better team to THIS point in the season. Hence the #1 ranking and the spotting of 5 1/2 points to Texas on the early line.
A month can make all the difference in the world and it just may. It is my opinion that Bama has the inside track to victory at this point.

I would say Bama by 20, but with a month off, who knows ? The players will be distracted by Christmas, travel, hype and pressure leading up to the big game.
