Re: Jr high week 6
West 8th 34-21 over Burg. A tale of two halves. West was flat, stagnant and unresponsive to everything before halftime. They came out after the break and had a composed drive with some nice plays to cap off with a score. From then on it was the Side boys in control. Hats off to the burgs d line. I felt they were definitely getting the penetration needed. Also the use of kicking extra points effectually I thought at one point may have won them the game. West just has those couple kids that if they break the second level, forget about it.

Great game. West has a kid like the Jackson back. A threat to take it every time. They definitely can change a junior high game real quick. Burg had a chance to try to win the game but came up short with a pick six. Other than the blazing heat, was glad to take this one in.wobycat wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 7:01 amSiderBlood wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 1:42 am West 8th 34-21 over Burg. A tale of two halves. I remember seeing those 8th graders a couple years ago and really expected some good things with the talent they seemed to have. Is that 8th grade team strictly all 8th graders or have some 7th graders been brought up?? Also what is the record of the 7/8 grade teams?

West did bring up a couple 7th graders. They had a couple linemen get held back in 6th grade. They moved them up to the 8th grade team this year. They had a couple boys leave after the 2 or 3rd week of season so they may have brought up some others. Their a good football team.greygoose wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 12:59 amI remember seeing those 8th graders a couple years ago and really expected some good things with the talent they seemed to have. Cause they are the two best teams in the league and the winner will without a doubt at least tie for the championship and that's if they get beat which I don't see happening. Who will beat them?

I know 2 lineman are 7th graders and they start for 8th. 2 or 3 more get playing time coming in and out. Both teams are undefeatedgreygoose wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 12:59 amI remember seeing those 8th graders a couple years ago and really expected some good things with the talent they seemed to have. I think 8th grade only has Eastern.

West starts 1 7th grade linemen on offense and sometimes 1 on defense
More kids played Tuesday because it was extremely hot, a couple kids were sick, and 1 lineman got hurt during the game
