Wellston 18 - 34 Athens

This is a big game for Wellston and Athens. Wellston keeps on surprising people. I am fine with being the underdog. If Wellston wins it could set up a championship game in McArthur with VC in week 10. I think that would be awesome but it is one week at at a time. The kicking game concerns me in a close game with Athens. Wellston is playing well as a team and I feel good about our chances.

Got see to Wellston last Friday doing the game for 105. Molihan is the real deal and he is complimented well with Garvin who will run people over. Kemp is a solid QB who makes good decisions and Hunter Smith is a BIG, tall physical WR. Id like to know how tall he is; we guessed 6-4 at least. The Rockets will pose a problem bc they are big and physical up front on both sides of the ball. They have a lot of kids that play both ways soit will be interesting to see if they can stay in it and not get gassed with the Athens offense. Rockets were impressive last week and I think at home with that front on both sides they will get a W over Athens. 28-21

I've watched both teams now. I think Athens is more athletic, Wellston just plays patient and runs the ball well, definitely a contrast in styles. But Athens also don't play very disciplined football......similar to Nelsonville-York. If Wellston controls the football on offense and keeps the big play in front of them on defense, then they win the football game.

Either way, should be a good one in Wellston.
