Fort didn’t play well and jones was out who is arguably their best playerEasternDspy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 3:45 pmYou guys are really underrating some of the Belpre skill guys Logan Adams had 181 yards the first game of the year vs Fort Frye.beg003 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 3:30 pmCan’t argue those but you’re forgetting Meigs who ran for virtually nothing, Barnesville had -3 yds rushing, and UL didn’t do anything. Granted those teams aren’t good, but Belpre doesn’t have a Chase Taylor, Ty Moore or an offensive line like those teams. I may be wrong, but people might be surprised Friday at how our run defense looks.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 2:58 pm
In the words of Maury that was a lie
They’ve actually been one of the worst rush defenses in the area numbers don’t lie.
Williamstown 49-394
Cambridge 40-236
Marietta 46 - 485
135- 1115 yards 371 yards per game
8.2 yards per carry
26.8 points allowed per game

Gonna take warren in this one, but my heart wants belpre to win just don’t think talent wise they match up! But 7-3 is not bad! On our way back
Re: WK 8 Warren (4-3) @ Belpre (5-2)
If Belpre runs Gottfried alot, Warren will have trouble stopping the run game. Union Local is 0-7, Meigs is 1-6 and Barnesville is 3-4 and Crooksville 2-5. Total record of beaten opponents 6-22. Belpre is better than all four of those teams. Warren is better this year, but not anywhere near a place to be bragging about being really good. Belpre has enough athletes to win this game. We will see in a few days.

Belpre might have a few better skills guys but I don’t see this huge talent gap everyone is talking about.

22 selections in the pick em contest so far
warren 21
Belpre 1
Meaning there are 21 smart contest players so far
warren 21
Belpre 1

Re: WK 8 Warren (4-3) @ Belpre (5-2)
This should be an exciting game with both stands packed. IMO from my first look at that new defensive game plan against Williamstown it worked somewhat but Warren is still bad at stopping the run which will allow Belpre to stay in this game. Hoping for a good game and no more injuries...let's go BIG BAD BLUE!!!!!!

Re: WK 8 Warren (4-3) @ Belpre (5-2)
Why would they take much offense to this? Coach Devol feels like his team has progressed since last year (6-4) enough to go 8-2. Our 4 losses were to FF, Trimble, Valley who isn't on the schedule and Waterford. Anyone who follows Belpre football AND goes to the games knew that the FF and Trimble games were losses going into the season. But, everyone felt that the next 8 games were winnable IF we play like we are capable of playing. Warren was never viewed as a walkover. Belpre expects a close tough game, otherwise, the series would have not been renewed.Warriors321 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 6:52 pm Heard today that Warren is not taking this game lightly. If you truly believe Belpre is going to win I want to know your reasoning. They have not been in a close game all year. Their last team they've played that was even decent was Trimble week 2!!!! Warren has played Marietta, Cambridge, Barnsville, and williamstown last week. Have they played in a fast paced games since week 2?? Im going to say warren wins by 3 touchdownsMister Bee wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:09 amWhy would they take much offense to this? Re: WK 8 Warren (4-3) @ Belpre (5-2)
The mentality is that everyone marks Warren down as an automatic win. The 8-2 comment fits that narrative in a player's mind. So yes, there has been a feeling all season that they need to prove they aren't those past Warren teams. Words can motivate whether they intend to or not. That's why I cringe a lot reading this board when people throw out opinions as though they are facts. No point in stirring up an opponent.Mister Bee wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:09 am Why would they take much offense to this? Aside from all that, tell me about Belpre's line (both sides). From what I've seen/heard, they are big. Is that big and fast, big and tough, big and slow, etc?
How about depth for Belpre? I know they don't have a lot of kids out, but do they mostly play both ways every down? Warren has a small roster, especially for a D3 school, but they do get a nice rotation of 20 or so kids in and out.
Re: WK 8 Warren (4-3) @ Belpre (5-2)
In the same article Devol also said they have the best secondary in the area. That theory will be put to a serious test Friday.Mister Bee wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:09 amWhy would they take much offense to this?
