Glad to see Doc off to a good start, I know he will be great.
I'll look for more info on the Florida kids here - http://www.soflafootball.com/

Willy Korn was supposed to be the savior at Clemson. Was he injured ?

Doc and Marshall have now got 4 de-committs from WVU to Marshall and now a LB from FLA who was offered a full ride to WVU has committed to the Herd. ESPNU had talked in length last night how Doc is taking all these players from WVU who are 3 and 4 star recruits. They said this was WVU biggest fear but they didn't think it would happened this fast. LET THE COUCH BURNING BEGIN. Next year WVU comes to Huntington and this could be the year the tables turn.

Lets hope. This has been a joke of a series. WVU was right about not having to play this game every year. The game hasnt even been close. Will these recruits jump ship again in 3 years when Doc moves on?

Wow, soundds like they have recieved some verbals some very good athletes. But I can't help but to think of all the troubled players that have extra baggage and off-field issues The Herd has signed in the past. Does anyone know what kind of character players these guys are?
Especially a 4 star recruit from St. Thomas Aquina, why Huntington, WV???

The folks want wins. Not character. If they wanted character they wouldnt have ran Snyder off. They wanted him to clean it up. They didnt really want that.

You're missing the big picture at what I was trying to make. And besides, Snyder was not bringin in waht you would call "good character guys", you do know about the Darius Marshall and Dequan Bembery incident right? Thosde are just two of the top opf my head right now.
What my main point was, is that, if these guy have off the field issues, and decide to to leave Florida to come to West Virginia, what kind of off the field baggage are they trying to leave behind and what does Marshall offer that Miami, Fla St, and the other big dogs don't?? Better Facilities, better academics? If that's what you think, then it's a joke. What I was saying, is if these guys come up to Huntington to play for Marshall, whnat good is it gonna do if they come up here and get there noses dirty? Cant put much impact on a game if your sittin at home...

Now before anyone takes this wrong, I was born in Huntington, WV. I lived in the West End of Huntington when I was 5 months old til I was 4 years old, and even after that, I lived right across the bridge in Proctorville until last year. I was born and raised through and through a Buckeye. But I am and 20 years old now and have lived what some call Barboursville and some call Huntington, and I have never been a Herd fan, mostly because Marshall fans down here here are so confident and cocky, when there truly isn't a reason to be. But I am starting to get to the point that I am rooting for The Herd and the whole city of Huntington, because they both get a bad reputation, WHEEEWWW, I am done rambling

Last recruit wants to go in to engineering at Marshall and all the other recruits were offered by every school in FLA and WVU. Looks to me like Doc can recruit and some can't stand it.

Michigan and Florida have a pipe line on Pahokee. No offense but Marshall will not be getting very many kids from there.

Michigan in three years has signed 5 kids from Pahokee.

^FAIL^

Doc has 7 in this class from the area. Pahokee, Belle Glades, Chaminade, Aquinas, all the same great talent level. Doc has great long term connections in S.Fla.

He has a single player from Pahokee and the kid was not sought after by the big boys.

1 Player!

Is Doc going to get kids to go to Marshall over OSU, Florida, FSU, Miami, Michigan, etc.

NO!

I like Doc and want him to win, but you are wrong. I said Pahokee, I did not say every school in the muck area which St. Thomas is not.

You are also talikng two and three star kids from those schools, not the highly recruited kids.

Fred Picketts offer list was WVU, Florida Int., and Marshall. He is not going up against top 10 recruiting schools here. LEt's be realistic.

There is a vast difference between a 2 or 3 star guy, who has offers from OSU, Florida, Michigan, LSU...ect.

And the same level guy who is offered from Marshall, ECU, Central Florida, and the like.

Just so you understand---Pahokee=there.
Not there=Florida.

ok 1 from little class 2B Pahokee. You never said it had to be a 4 or 5 star. Doc has a pipeline to every school in south Florida.
Jarael Watson LB from Cardinal Gibbons will be the next one he takes. Pahokee might not have any 4 stars next year.
Pickett is a 3 star. I see 3 Pahokee kids on Mich.'s roster, 2 of them are 3 star. yes I know Ash is a 4 star. Who is the 5th player ?

Just because you're from southern florida, doesn't make you a great football player.

Doc had a pipeline when he was recruiting to a BCS school, and got to sell his boss's records and acomplishements.

Now that he is on his own, and by the way not the primary recruiter (as head coaches very rarely are), he has to
sell coming to Marshal instead of WVU. Huntington instead of Morgantown. C-USA instead of a BCS school.
His own HEAD coaching record and acomplishments (big fat zero so far) instead of RR's coat tails. He has to sell an occasional
thursday ESPN game and very small amounts of regional coverage that nobody watches, over BCS and full east coast coverage.

He might still get some recruits from down there, but it is not going to become the second coming of the mid-90's Marshal football dynasty.
Which BTW was D-1AA not big boy football.

I never said just because you're from south Fla it makes you a great player. I've been saying the opposite, if a kid has raw speed he gets offered no matter how bad he is. However, there are more top prospects in that area than anywhere in the nation.
RR's coattails ? He did it at WVU way before RR, and at N.C. St. and for the Gators. His classes will be as good or better than WVU's starting next year. I'm familiar with Marshall's 1AA title, QB Eric Kresser transferred there from Florida, not to mention all the coaching connections between UF and Marshall.

The day that Marshall recruiting classes are better than WVU's is the day that WVU falls into a giant sinkhole and
goes away forever.
