Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Meigs and Wellston usually have tight games. It will be important not to overlook Meigs. Rockets need to focus this week. It will be hard with senior night. Rockets are heavy favorites but need to bring their A game.
Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Wellston gets win number 7 on the year. just can’t look ahead, true definition of a trap game here. They gotta focus.
Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Agree. Huge game week 10 against a big physical VC team2Time wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2019 8:31 am Wellston gets win number 7 on the year. just can’t look ahead, true definition of a trap game here. They gotta focus.
Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Sure is, not to hijack the thread but for Wellston to beat VC they might have to air it out a bit to Hunter Smith and company. Between the tackles might not cut it.

Looked at the Region projections to see where Burg is expected to finish, looks like Wellston can be in with a couple W's. When was last time they were in the playoffs?

Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Trap game. Senior night for Wellston so the Rockets should roll as long as they can get over the loss to Athens and realize what they can still accomplish if they can win out. 8-2 season 2nd in the TVC and playoffs.

Wellston should roll. They are in the same boat as Portsmouth, both playing teams they should beat but if not focused could fall into a trap. Still think Wellston by 4 scores.

Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Stay focused Rockets and get win No-7. Plenty of time after this game, to be concerned about Week 10.
Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Agree, don't let the disappointment of the Athens game carry-over this week. Regain the mojo against Meigs and use that for Week 10 and beyond.

Re: WK9 Meigs @ Wellston
Wellston and Meigs had a historical game in 1992 on CH Jones Field...….Meigs was loaded with talent and the golden rockets were coming off a failed sports levy that left wellston sports programs crippling.....almost every athlete left the school district ...kids went to Jackson, Logan, Gallia, Ironton, westfall, Alex and every kid started on those teams...wellston went from prolly the best team in program history to a mere determined wellston through and through kids of maybe 20-25kids at best.......those handful of determined golden rockets lined up to do battle against a team that should beat the rockets 100-0.....by the end of the game and it was Homecoming for the rockets....a heavy fog had rolled in over the field and literally you cannot see the field from the bleachers/press box.....the rockets battled back to put them selves in position to win it...….senior chad Ingalls kicked a FG through the heavy thick thick fog of CH Jones Field and split the uprights right down the middle giving the rockets a historic victory over the meigs marauders on homecoming night.....it was a really special win for the wellston golden rockets......
