Re: DV R19 Playoff Talk
Is Burg eliminated with a loss to Waverly? Or does a 6-4 record put them in a 7 or 8 spot? They arent going to get much help from Valley or West to end the season.
Not too concerned about AC. They got hammered by Waverly and their schedule is not the greatest.

No. They will get in with a 5-5 record. 6-4 will still get them a 4 seed. Strength of schedule is on there side. The Ashland game and Ashland beating ironton was huge.Bleeding Red wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 8:47 am Is Burg eliminated with a loss to Waverly? Or does a 6-4 record put them in a 7 or 8 spot? I believe they are in really good shape, they will beat West and Valley and then get points from West ,Valley and Oak Hill playing each other. They should also keep picking up points from Minford and Ashland who should both be 8 or 9 win teams. As for the Clearcreek Waverly situation I am kind of at a loss without context. In week 2 A.C.beat Unioto 32-14, week 3 Unioto beats Waverly 41-14 and then the next week Waverly beats Clearcreek 48-14. So, did Unioto play up to Waverly? Did Waverly have a crippling injury that they got over in a single week or did A.C. have a huge letdown, or all of the above?Bleeding Red wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 8:47 am Is Burg eliminated with a loss to Waverly? Re: DV R19 Playoff Talk
From what I can tell from a few of the highlights in the AC-Waverly game is AC was extremely confused in pass coverage. I think a couple of the pass TD's were blown coverage.portsmouth_98 wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 1:41 pmI believe they are in really good shape, they will beat West and Valley and then get points from West ,Valley and Oak Hill playing each other. Re: DV R19 Playoff Talk
Updated numbers to prove I had no clue last week, I'll post after this week to show how wrong I was again. Same 8 teams in but a major shuffle and switched Acadmey and Burg in the top 4, I had Waverly winning last Friday which changed things quite a bit. I'm also thinking Wellston is in much better shape than I had them last week, and Portsmouth looks to be stuck in 7th or 8th unless the beat Ironton or Minford or Wellston collapse ahead of them. Might need both if Columbus Academy wins out, which I'll admit I'm pretty clueless about, mainly went off records, home field advantage and common opponents.portsmouth_98 wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2019 10:51 pm Ok, I did a quick tally just with my best guesses but some games I could be way off on. No, both are over an hour away. We are in eastern Coshocton County. Around 45 minutes Northeast of Zanesville.portsmouth_98 wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2019 8:31 pm You guys are closer to Centerburg and the Johnstown area teams aren't you?
Re: DV R19 Playoff Talk
Yeah, you guys came down to W'burg and Minford a few yrs back and that's about a 3.5-to-4-hr trip on a bus. Great fans, and a classy coach your program has. Enjoyed talking to your fans at a tail gail party.orange20hd wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2019 9:40 pmNo, both are over an hour away. We are in eastern Coshocton County. Ridgewood has a great community following for all things school oriented, not just sports. I also had a great time at the Burg and good talk with Burg fans on the hill and at Valley. Missed the Minford game unfortunately. Good hard fought games. Coaches are top notch, assistants have had multiple chances to leave but choose to stay.vladimir wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 1:13 amYeah, you guys came down to W'burg and Minford a few yrs back and that's about a 3.5-to-4-hr trip on a bus. Ridgewood plays in the IVC conference. The teams we have played that will be playoff teams are Indian Valley #1 region 15 currently and Garaway #6 region 17 currently. Coshocton and Newcomerstown are closest teams for us.portsmouth_98 wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 1:40 amWow, who would be your closest games of people in the running for the playoffs?orange20hd wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2019 9:40 pmNo, both are over an hour away. Re: DV R19 Playoff Talk
^ I think what he's asking is who would be the closest in region 19. That would be Gahanna Columbus Academy, which is still a 1.5-hr trip.

Re: DV R19 Playoff Talk
I will very happy to see our Trojans in the playoffs, but in all honestly the one trip I won't make is to Ridgewood. I drove to Middletown Madison last year and it was a L.....O......N......G drive. About 7 hours total. I'll go 2 hours, but that's it. Ridgewood is easily a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive from Portsmouth.

I'm with you there, I would basically have to take a half day off work to avoid rushing or getting there late.trojandave wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 11:37 am I will very happy to see our Trojans in the playoffs, but in all honestly the one trip I won't make is to Ridgewood. From a person that goes to the games, they have. Are they the 17squad that won the D5 state championship? Hell no!Poo Bear wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 11:51 am Ironton / Burg part 2 would be huge. Has Burg improved any is the question
Theyre even improved from week 6 at minford.
Can they go toe to toe and smash mouth football? we shall see I would suspect.
