Re: Portsmouth (8-1) -vs- Ironton (8-1) OVC CROWN
Portsmouth will have their hands full in this one. Ironton dismantled Gallia, Gallia pretty much handled Portsmouth for the final 2 quarter of that game. Makes me wonder what Ironton will do to Portsmouth. That being said, the Trojans have beat the Tigers the last 2 seasons. Portsmouth will have to play their best game and then some to beat Ironton, especially @ Ironton. You know what they say, when you play @ Ironton you’re already down 7-0 before you take the field lol.

Re: Portsmouth (8-1) -vs- Ironton (8-1) OVC CROWN
I think this one will be an uphill battle for the Trojans and Kalb and staff are going to have to work their butts off to give us a chance. I believe we will be physically overmatched as we have been by almost every team this year and we are going to have to depend on speed, athleticism and the coaches putting everyone in the right position to make plays. I think the best chance for Portsmouth to win is to utilize the short passing game and try try to eat up clock. If that works we will be in the game, if not I think our defense will wear down and eventually collapse as it did against Rock Hill and Gallia. We have done a great job on fundamental football this year in regards to penalties and turnovers but I think we will have to play 95% or better and hope for some lucky bounces which actually seem to be going our way this year.

Portsmouth will give Ironton a better game then Gallia,, but still not enough.
Re: Portsmouth (8-1) -vs- Ironton (8-1) OVC CROWN
Actually it’s usually 14-0 before the game starts at the Tank. The intimidation and awe factor has usually done teams in. Looking forward to this matchup. A focused Fighting Tigers team should handle this oneBuckeyeBlood wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 3:32 am Portsmouth will have their hands full in this one. Re: Portsmouth (8-1) -vs- Ironton (8-1) OVC CROWN
wowzers, it don't get anymore exciting than this. as far as the gahs game goes. I felt ironton was the better of the 2 teams if they handled the ball and limited penalties. but wow. I did not see this coming.
