If there is a playoff for Div I, I will watch the occasional Buckeye game and will not tune in until the playoffs like I do for BB now.

All the NCAA D I has to do is follow I-AA, D II, D III and NAIA. Its really not that difficult.

Yea it is that difficult. The NAIA, DII, DIII, and DI A doesnt have the bowl set up. So if you get rid of the bowls how will the bowls you will cause problems with how the money will be recouped. Look right now all conferences share in the bowl wealth. So even if you dont make a bowl you still get money. Now if you got a playoff those teams lose out in that money becasue you dont have the bowl payouts.

You beat me to it TC71, everyone is arguing for a playoff, it's not gonna happen. Money talks, and college football and the whole Bowl System is a multi-billion dollar business. While alot of posters on here say a playoff would be exciting, the only thing exciting to the NCAA is the dollar signs.

OK, so if you have playoffs for College Football, think about the NFL. If you have a team who is definitely in, why would they not rest their starters a la the Colts and Saints. Rest up, don't get injured and if some team on the bubble doesn't get in because they are relying on you to play your starters, now you've got a whole other set of headaches. I STILL don't care for the BCS title game. I have no problem letting the polls decide the ultimate champion. After all, they skew their vote now at the end of the season to make sure there is a "marquee" matchup. The reason I love College FB is because EVERY game counts!

More money would be made in a playoff system. The rights to the games on TV would be higher, and there would be packed houses across the nation. As it stands now, bowls are money losers for the vast majority of the teams that participate. Plus the level of play on most of the bowls are horrific at best.

A playoff system would ensure greater competition as teams with weak schedules will be exposed rather quickly, and the cream will rise. I could in-vision a scenario where the championship game would rival the super bowl in ratings, and in the end ratings equal dollars, lots of them.
