Re: Waterford (7-2) @ Belpre (5-4)
Waterford will come away with an easy win if they go in like they didn’t against southern. Belpre seems to have fallen apart and waterford has bonded together. 35-0

Belpre isn’t out coaching anybody this week. Cats by 30. Devol wrote too many checks with his mouth that he couldn’t cash.

Re: Waterford (7-2) @ Belpre (5-4)
Belpre has no atmosphere at all at home games. The warren game is one of their biggest games in a long time and their fans were done after the first quarter. Student section is an absolute non factor. Cats win this with ease after belpre packed up the season

Waterford is playing for a home playoff game. Belpre is playing to get in shape for basketball. Waterford is not overlooking Belpre, as they can't, they don't know who they are playing in week 11. Waterford is also the healthiest they've been all season.

Wasn't he one of those "can't lose" coaching hires? Seems like he'd have them turned around by now.
Disclaimer: This is all an opinion and I am therefore hoping we can still express opinions on this site without retort.
Re: Waterford (7-2) @ Belpre (5-4)
I never thought he was that great to begin with. He’s good at getting kids out but terrible at sustaining a successful program. He won with great classes at Warren, and won a state championship at P. South with the best group of athletes to go through there. Not sure what all the hype is about truthfully. They’ve been whipped by every good team they’ve played.Ground Buck wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:54 pmWasn't he one of those "can't lose" coaching hires? Seems like he'd have them turned around by now.

Man up Belpre!
Get a good 48 minutes in and hit someone hard wearing green and white.
Shame on Devol going out like a lamb with his team in shambles.

Cold game tonight! This game will not be one dimensional. Devol and McCutcheon will have their boys ready for this 30 degree weather. 30-21 wildcats!

Re: Waterford (7-2) @ Belpre (5-4)
I had hoped that after losing the first 2 games of the season, which was expected, we would have finished the last 8 games no worse than 7-1. Maybe even 8-0. The 5 games after the 0-2 start were easy wins although we did sleep walk through the first half vs South Gallia. Maybe we were looking ahead to Warren.
I was hoping for an upset vs Warren but Taylor, Simonette, the Gandees and others were just a better team and they deserved to win so that was my expected loss in the last 8 games.
Eastern played very well and we were just to inconsistent in our level of play and frankly our play calling. Not taking away from Eastern, they seemed to have a well thought out plan and stuck to it. We, however, just seem to run the same plays, ones that work vs teams that we were better than athletically, but didn't adjust our play calling much to keep the other teams off balance that were as good as or better than us athletically. Frankly, other teams know what we are going to run and they load up the box and dare us to do something different. I had hoped to see more touches the past few games for #33. I think he needs to carry the ball more to open up the field for #14. Not knocking any kids or their abilities but you have to put your players in the best possible situation so they can achieve their potential. But what do I know, I am not at practice, I just base my thoughts on what I see once a week.
Waterford will be fired up for this game...as for us, I hope so. The Wildcats have a chance to win and secure a home game for week 1 of the playoffs so they will be ready. We need to play our hearts out and salvage a win to go and match last year's 6-4 record. Hopefully we can.
As for Devol being overrated, he is not. Coming into this season he had a record of 257-115-2 with a state title. Yes, he has coached some very good talent but isn't that what successful coaches do, they have average to above average talent or better to make deep runs and win conference or state titles.
The folks at Belpre are very happy he is here and I personally hope he continues to be our head coach for at least another 5+ years, depending on his health.
Should be a good game tonight if both teams are fired up and they should be. Great football weather.
I predict Belpre, by the skin of our teeth, gets a win on senior night.
Good luck and good health to both teams...and...
LETS GO EAGLES!!!

Re: Waterford (7-2) @ Belpre (5-4)
I've seen both teams play and I've gotta say that Waterford better be ready if they want to win it. Obviously they SHOULD win it, but if they look ahead to week 11, they will get beat. If they come out focused and motivated to secure home field next week they will win. Belpre has nothing to lose and Waterford is gonna get their best shot, believe me
