Why doesn't the kid from Houston get any love, if I heard correctly doesn't he lead the league in scoring/ and or steals?
Re: Top 25 player rankings in college B-Ball
IS this based on NBA talent or in college basketball?
Not having Schyer on there is crazy

Being a Dukie I think it is down right stupid not to have Nolan Smith or John Scheyer on this list. At any given time this two guys can take over any game.

Re: Top 25 player rankings in college B-Ball
As big of an Irish fan as I am I have to hold off on Harangody, as a college player he is one of the top, if you are using that list as a mark for NBA then I would (as much as I hate to) have to disagree, his defense is suspect and for a big man he really doesn't like going under the basket.
Re: Top 25 player rankings in college B-Ball
if it is based on this season it is awful. Scheyer is your poy at this point
Re: Top 25 player rankings in college B-Ball
Jon Scheyer:
19.1 ppg
5.5 apg
3.5 rpg
1.5 spg
Evan Turner:
19.2 ppg
5.7 apg
9.3 rpg
1.9 spg
This all with Turner having played in a few games in only a limited capacity because of injury. Otherwise, his stats are over the 20 ppg, 10 rpg, and 5 apg average. If he reaches that point, he would be the first player to do so from a major conference since Bill Walton.

scheyer also plays on the #8 team in the country and plays with two other players that both average over 16.

Turner doesn't take a lot of shots, so having other good players only opens things up for Scheyer. Turner takes all of the opponent's heat.
So,
Turner has the stats.
His state are even more superior if not for the injury.
He is also more highly regarded by Scouts.
Scheyer has the more "highly ranked" team, which has not been lived up to since 2001.

Peak's personal interest in Duke University has clouded his judgement
Re: Top 25 player rankings in college B-Ball
Didn't the almighty BUcks get beat in the first round last year?!?!
I agree 100% that Turner is a much better pro prospect, but lets be real, the Big Ten is a joke this season. I want to love the Big Ten, but it is not very good top to bottom.
Scheyer is playing out of position and is possibly the best PG in the country.

Did Duke win their ACC/Big 10 game???? I don't think so. Wisconsin killed them.

Turner is playing out of position at PG as well.
I also was not aware that National PLAYER of the Year was a team award.
I also was not aware that the Big Ten lost the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
My mention of Duke never living up to the hype has nothing to do with OSU losing in the first round. Wake me the next time OSU spends 8 straight years living in the top 10 all season, yet without a single Elite Eight appearance. Matta has been to two Elite Eights since Coach K's last visit. Matta is a part of a large group of coaches who have done so.
Again, Turner has the stats and the talent. What does Scheyer have over Turner? Better teammates? Maybe, but that has nothing to do with POY.
