That's probably the best for both anyway in rd. 1 with it being the closest distance when all other teams border the Mason-Dixon line .greygoose wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2019 11:41 pmYeah going into the game, I figured St C would jump Gallia and we'll see a Gallia @ Waverly matchup in week 11.svac83 wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2019 10:14 pm ST. CLAIRSVILLE Wins tonight on thursday and clinches. Indian valley beat claymont tonight and meigs win tonight. i think clinches gallia academys spot.

1st round mathups will be
St. clairsville at john glenn
gallia academy at waverly
bloom carroll at indian valley
heath or marion franklin at licking valley.
heath has won but if marion franklin wins they will finish just ahead of them

I’m not saying they will win but I’m sure Gallia likes there chances better against Waverly than John Glenn or st. Clairsville or Indian valley

I would probably say the same for Waverly as well wish these two would schedule a regular season matchup

Yeah I’d like to see burg play Gallia too when I was a freshman and sophomore Gallia and burg played a home and home series which they split 1-1

For all we know he could've been ready to go, at say 90% but the coaches knew they had South Point well in hand. It'd be like Waverly playing Shoemaker or Shanks against a cupcake instead of playing it safe and resting them.

#8 Marion Franklin at #1 Licking Valley
#5 St. Clairsville at #4 John Glenn
#7 Bloom Carroll at #2 Indian Valley
#6 Gallia Academy at #3 Waverly
This should be correct. If you look at the max / min on joe eitel. The 8 spots are set.

Considering how long Waverly has had to play in the Southwest region, I can guess they are pretty happy and fortunate to be playing Gallipolis. They use to play every year when Waverly was in the SEOAL, but at that time, Waverly had a good number of really down years and weren't very competitive with the likes of Jackson, Ironton and Gallipolis. Years before that, they would have done quite well against Gallipolis I think.

I can remember in the early 70's, Waverly had some awesome basketball teams.

Hopefully both teams are healthy heading into the game. Would love to see the Devils tame the Tigers this next Friday. That said, if the Tigers win it, I'll be pulling for them come week 12.
Come playoff time, we want all of SEO to do well, yeah?

In 68 and 69 they were undefeated in football. There were only two school sizes in football and no playoffs. They were AA (large school) and played 8th ranked Jackson, I think in 69 and played to a tie. And at that time, they had never lost to Wheelersburg. After 69, Coach Redman must have seen the writing on the wall and got a job at Lancaster I think. Waverly then struggled through 13 years of losing seasons.... Things have been much better since.GalliaGrad78 wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2019 1:55 am I can remember in the early 70's, Waverly had some awesome basketball teams.
