John Wall or Evan Turner?

Who will win POY and which would you rather have on your team and why?

I think Wall will have the better shot at winning, but I would rather have Turner on my team.

this isnt even a good question no doubt wall is a better player, but if your trying to build a program then turner because he will stay longer than 1 year like he already has.

One's a senior the other's a freshman. Gimme the senior come tourney time. If UK was in the Big Ten they'd be in a dog fight to win the conference and a #1 seed in the tournament would have to mean winning the conference title. That being said I enjoy watching Wall.

Turner is a junior.

But I don't see how Wall is clearly the better player.

Turner has played in a tougher conference.

He has less help on his team. There is certainly no Cousins.

He has played fewer minutes per game (Turner: 33.9 Wall 34.3).

He tops Wall in nearly every statistical category.

Also, in eight (8) games against ranked teams this season, Turner is averaging 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field.

Wall may have more potential, but even that is in question (see the article I linked in the other college basketball player thread).

If I were an NBA GM is take Wall, if I am a coach right now I take Turner.

Wall has more potenial. Evan Turner is the better player overall right now because of his rebounds and PPG with less help.

In February, during the critical portion of the season leading up to March:

In 7 games in February Evan Turner is averaging 22.7 pts, 8.4 rebs, 6.1 asst, 2.1 steals & shoots 50%, while playing 36.5 minutes per game.

In 6 February games, John Wall is averaging 16.7 pts, 5.8 rebs, 4.6 asst, 1.5 steals & shoots 42%, while playing 37 minutes per game.

Finally, Evan Turner has made zero disparaging comments about his head coach. John Wall has had one instance of disparaging his head coach to the media.

UK wouldnt be in a dogfight to win the conference. The Big Ten is good in basketball, but UK would win the conference. Period. I dont see them losing 3+ times to the teams in the Big Ten.

Regardless, give me Turner all day everyday. I like Wall and he is a stud player, but he is not putting up the numbers Turner is putting up.

Here is how I see it. Wall is the better player for the short term. He will be great for however long he stays in College and he will be real good for a few years in the NBA.

Turner will be Great in college and he will be better than walls in the NBA. Turner will last longer to.

Right now Walls is the best athlete in college basketball. turner has the best Basketball mind in college basketball. Can we put them together? LOL

Wall is POY. If I already had a good team Id take Wall. If the team is bad or you are starting a new one its got to be Turner. Hes above average at everything.

i think turner is the stronger all around better player. wall isnt expienced enough yet and i personally think think him and cousins need to stay another year to build there skills, but the money will probably take them to the next level.

SethDavisHoops: Argued for him as long as I could...but Turner has pulled away.

I still don't like that he was "arguing for him as long as he could." He should only be arguing for him if he has a case. Not until the differences become so drastic that he embarrasses himself if he continues pulling for Wall.

If, Turner doesn't get hurt, we're not having this discussion.
Give me Turner now, Wall could end up better. But right now I don't see how you could not pick Turner. Just my opinion.
