Cole Young only being honorable mention is a joke. School record in rushing and over 100 tackles on defense. What more does a kid have to do?

Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
I would have to agree with you but unfortunately going 2-8 doesn't help his cause. It also depends on how much your coaches pushed the issue with the local sports writers.Bigbuckeye52 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 7:35 am Cole Young only being honorable mention is a joke. Again congrats to all the players for this recognition!!
Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
Simoniette being special mention is head-scratching. 58 catches for 872 yds and 8 TD sure sounds good enough but apparently not.

Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
We could list several other kids that was "head-scratching" like Prater from Jackson not making 1st team. Best corner on the team. Also where was Evan Spires (I don't care if he got hurt)? He should have at least made HM.
Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
IMO every Jackson starter on both sides of the Ball and the kicker deserved something. They all played so good.JohnDenver wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:43 am We could list several other kids that was "head-scratching" like Prater from Jackson not making 1st team. Best corner on the team. Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
The writers did really good on this. It’s impossible to get everyone perfect to the minds of everyone. Sure I know the Jackson kids well but to get an accurate list throughout the district took some time and work.
Going to have a lot of mentions and better on the state honors too

Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
D3 was stacked this year. Very happy my son ended up on the list. I’m sure there were plenty of deserving kids that got no mentions.
Re: 2019 Southeast Ohio All-District Football Team
Gallipolis had a lineman on there team this year that has started for 4 years on the o-line and did not get anything. It is a shame that a kid who was good enough to do something that not many that have walked the halls of that school have done not get any recognition. He should be on this list it is to bad that he is not.

Coaches
[/quote]
Coaches provide information to the writers who do the all-district selections, as well as the all+state.
All-conference selections are made by the coaches.

The coaches will put kids up for all district but the media has final say on who gets selected.
Championship's are won in the off-season

Sounds like we have a lot of everyone needs a trophy talk on here.

My kid didn’t make it and he flat out didn’t deserve it...even though he crossed the goal line a couple times a game.
But he plays a mean trombone
