Covington lost both safeties on first drive. So covington qb playing both ways now. He's actually got a couple D1 offers to play safety, including BG, but doesnt play there much there... as odd as that sounds.

Turnover on downs, announcers are confused it wasn't a new set of downs.

Maybe an official can answer. It was 4th and goal for SE and on the 4th down play SE was awarded a personal foul in end zone for a blow to the head and they went half the distance to the goal and replayed 4th down???

No idea either. But I do feel like there are weird instances in hs football where it's not auto first down. I'm trying to research it now. Weird to me though as well.

This is what I found:


High school is always previous spot. ... The only automatic first downs by penalty in high school: Roughing the quarterback and roughing the kicker/holder/snapper

Sounds like SE is struggling with Covingtons speed. Southeastern sounds like they might be getting the better push on the power run game though.
