Warren at Steubenville 2016

I see where Warren Local has added Steubenville to its 2016 football schedule. I know that Warren is now in the OVAC and Steubenville didn't have enough OVAC games this year for their kids to play in next summer's OVAC All-Star Game. I also know that the Warriors were 0-10 in 2015. Do they expect to be better in 2016? Steubenville is expected to be very good again in the coming year. And Warren is Division III.

What are your thoughts on this game?

With the decline of the SEOAL, Warren is trying to schedule more OVAC teams. They need 5 to be eligible for post season awards and most teams are scheduled full for 2016. I would not see this being a yearly game.

I just looked at Warrens 2016 schedule and it does not have Steubenville on there. Must be another Warren.

Steubenville schedule says they play Vincent Warren at home in Week #6.

They probably dropped Jackson because they are not in OVAC. Need 5 ovac games for ovac title or awards. Fort Frye vs Warren will happen soon.

As Raider said, we are still in the SEOAL with Jackson and Logan so those games are on and with the above schedule we have 5 OVAC games. Beallsville, P. South, Oak Glen, Union, and Weir.

I really hope that Warren is getting a cut of the gate for this game. They usually have 7-8 home games a year and have been known to pay other teams to travel to them. That may make it a little less painful...a little.

Just checked out the OHSAA schedule for 2016, it has Warren vs Jackson, playing in week #6 (Sept 30). If you checkout the schedule for BR, it has them playing Warren in week #6, but it doesn't say if it's Warren Vincent, or Warren Howland, or even maybe Warren Harding.
Then again if you check on Howland's & Harding's schedules, they also have games lined up for week #6 already. So it's a game of wait & see, but from what some people are saying on another site, it's Warren Vincent.

Spoke to the A.D. and she said that there was no way she would schedule Steubenville in football at this time. Jackson is who we play in week 6.

Thanks for the info Warrior90, the OHSAA schedule & Warren's schedule both have them playing Jackson, in week #6. I guess the info were getting up here, in this neck of the woods, is incorrect. I guess it a game of wait & see, on who Big Red fills the schedule out with.
