Thanks Vladimir. You’re gonna make it very difficult for them to stay out.

The closer this gets to game time the more I have my mind made up.
I will be very, very surprised if Ironton doesn’t win. I think Ridgewood is a fantastic team and program and this will be a slugfest. But with the impending weather and strengths of each team, this is Ironton’s game to lose.

^I'm with you on Ironton winning by a TD, but The big IF here is.... IF Ironton can hold onto the ball and not have a case of fumblitis.

People I've talked to say they pack that place every home football game. Those who don't have a seat in the stands, stand around the fence around their track. I've heard their AD and coaches are ecstatic about playing at Boston Field. From what I'm hearing, they love the character of the stadium and the fact that people will be sitting/standing everywhere. In the end, it's not about the fans or coaches. It's about the experience for the young men playing in the game. Me personally, I'd much rather play in a "smaller" stadium that is packed, than one that seats 8000 that looks empty. Reports I heard from Ridgewood's AD was how impressed he was with Nelsonville's coach and superintendent whom he had the opportunity to meet when they visited. He left me with the impression that Nelsonville is going to any and everything to accommodate all. What more could you ask for?Orange and Brown wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 1:44 pmWe won't be bringing in any extra seating. Bringing in little league bleachers won't work because the folks sitting in them won't be able to see anything.YOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 1:37 pm
as much as I love their stadium/atmosphere/food, it won't handle this crowd in my opinion. unless they bring in an enourmous amount of bleachers. I'd say be in line about 2 hours early. not trying to discourage anyone. but somebody from Nelsonville needs to announce how much extra seating will be added by the additional bleachers they are bringing in.
Ridgewood has a small stadium and are used to standing and don't mind it (according to their AD), Ironton played at NY 3 times a they fit just fine. Lots of people prefer to stand and their is plenty of room for that.
Y'all are in the regional finals. Just be happy you are still playing. Coach Pendalton and his staff came down yesterday and they don't have any issues with our place.
I promise we will treat y'all good and both teams will be well taken care of.
Wow, 2500 seems small for a d5 team. Is it a single sided stadium?

A few have but even those seem forced. We should have each others back.
No one from Burg expected any support from the area. In fact a lot of people I talked to not from Burg told me they just went to hopefully watch Burg get their butts handed to them. Guess they wasted a 4.5 hour car ride.
I for one support any team from the area that is still playing from SEO. It's bad enough that SEO teams get no respect from anyone up North that if we don't support each other we will never get any respect
I know you were bait but you are not here or from Scioto County!!!

I Dont know when it started & Not sure why they do it, but I just noticed it this season for the FighTing Tigers!
Not sure if Coach Pendleton started it @ IronTon, as this is the first year more of their games were on Facebook & I noticed it.
I’ve also noticed almost every team I see on FB in Ohio does it.
I watch FLHSAA games here & no1 does it here!
Coach Pendleton has really brought the tiger team into a different place with new traditions.
Especially the social media campaign!

Re: Week 13 - Ironton (11-1) vs Ridgewood (12-0)
This game comes down to this.
Ridgewood wants to dictate tempo. To do that they need their offensive line to win vs Irontons defensive line. To have a shot at that, Ridgewood will need to get some chunk plays on the Tiger defense. Do I believe they can break some plays throughout the course of a game? Yes. But I do not believe Wood can consistently rip off big plays against the Ironton defense. Not the West Lafayette boys night. Wood lands into the turnover column one too many times against a very consistent defense. Ironton special teams wins the field position battle. On the offensive side for Ironton, a steady diet of the three headed monster ( Salyers, Carrico, Fosson) is just what the doctor ordered on a cold, damp night of Ohio high school football in November.

If you want an x factor. Something that can tilt an advantage. Look no further than special teams play and the battle of field position.Tjhtygeverve wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 11:55 pmUse that FROSH!!!Rockwilder wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 8:08 pm Who’s a player that could be the “X” factor in this game? The name is Avery Book.
Re: Week 13 - Ironton (11-1) vs Ridgewood (12-0)
I don't know anything about Ridgewood, other than if they made it this far, they have to have a good team. I just hope Ironton plays like they did against Gallia Academy. They were a well oiled machine in that game! I sure hope they don't play like they done against Amanda. Turnovers kill!
There's so much ignorance about the each school. It reminds me of a guy I worked from Huntington with who was visiting some relatives up in Ohio for Thanksgiving. His family told him that they were so pumped up because they were going to play some little school down south called Ironton for the state championship. They ask him had he ever heard of them. He laughed so hard telling that story. His family was from Campbell Memorial.

Sticking with my prediction from Tuesday especially after reading on multiple posts from Ironton fans talking about the number of penalties committed all year long. If those haven't been corrected by wk #12, they probably won't be this week.FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 10:56 pm With ball control, timely passing to keep Wood off balance and max 2 turnovers on offense Ironton will win this game with their defense. Ridgewood not as physical but force a lot of turnovers and fly to the ball on defense and the young QB is a very accurate passer and shifty when running.

NY has hosted playoff games for Divisions 4, 5, 6 and 7 before, clear up to the Regional Finals. There has never been any problems with capacity.
