West Jefferson’s QB is the leading passer in D5 Ohio football according to Max Preps. He’s thrown for 2,635 yards, 32 TD’s and only 1 interception. That came on 196 attempts and 145 completions

West Jeff isn’t known for their defense so if ironton can slow down them like they did ridgewood, can’t dee them losing this one.
The young man has some speed that's for sure.

My hunch is Jackson. Last year state semi distance wise favored Burg over Johnstown and Jackson hosted. They do a great job there.

Upon further study, looks like the QB is a mirror image of tingle. Throws a really good ball. West Jeff offensive line looks better technique wise, all seniors And their running back is better than ridgewood. Ironton should win this week if they stick to the same game plan as ridgewood.

Looking at their Season stats, they'er not one dimensional at all.

Very rarely do you have a blowout in the state semis. This should be a good game. Looks like WJ might have a better RB then what RW had plus a decent QB.

Ironton is the real deal this year and have a stout defense with a strong offense.

Good luck Tigers

Good Luck to Ironton. I’ll guess this thread will give a lot of extra ammo for Coach Buescher to use. I don’t think it’ll be enough.

Their only loss was to West Liberty Salem and they gave up 42 points but they just thrashed them by 5 TD and shut them out.....so either WJ improved a lot or adjusted very good to an opponent. Either way Ironton with penalties and turnovers could wind up heartbreaking.

Ironton 31
West Jeff 21

Just like to say congrats to the Tigers on the HUGE win last night. I heard some people doubting you guys and I couldn't agree with them. Ironton has a full TEAM. After seeing Ridgewood I thought Ironton was the better team. And they proved that. Much the same for me this week. I think they dispatch West Jeff the same way. But Kirtland lurking. That will be tough.

Ironton and Kirtland would be a great game because they play a lot alike! Probably the hardest hitting game

The qb exploited a lot of weak smaller defenses this year when passing. Against Shawnee in the semi he was situational and completed 8 of 10 passes for 340 yd and 5 td's and in the WLS game he was 5-6 for 66 yd with no td's and they used all ground game with Jones running wild for 300 yd and 5 td's. Ironton has not and will not give up a 42 yd. per catch avg. nor a 300 yd. running game to any opponent this year as the last 2 teams to play West Jeff have done. I have no dog in the fight but don't think this one will be close.

I hope you’re right, the Fighting Tigers Defense is pretty darn good and it looks like West Jefferson does give up some points.

if ironton just plays like there capable I’m thinking they win something like 31-17 . I don’t think with irontons ball control and defense west Jeff will put up 34 points this week like they did last week.

I think you all are underestimating West Jeff they look like A very solid D V team with a very good rb and qb and their defense seems to be very fast and swarm to the ball very well. Not saying that Ironton can't win just saying if the Tigers have the penalties and turnover problems that have been plaguing them West Jeff wins but if Ironton can straighten those up I can see Ironton winning and heading to Canton. Good luck to the Tigers play lights out and you got this

Good luck to the tigers. Clean up penalties and you can win this game. No matter what happens what a year for the tigers. They have a lot of young kids that are very good. I think a freshman ran the ball a few times last night and did well. Future is bright in ironton. Not sure what grade the kicker is but what a leg. I think almost every kick was a touchback and kicked a nice field goal.

Agree 100% this team is here for a reason! You don’t make it to the final four with a bad team. On another note Ironton is big, physical and I say played the best well balanced team in D-V. In ridgewood. Kirkland is just a different kind of monster. Take it one game at a time as I see Ironton winning this next game and meeting Kirkland for the finals.

Shawnee didn’t either have a rush at the QB or no pass defense. I just looked at the pass plays for TD’ 77,49,44,80and 60, wow!!
