Would be good for both leagues.bbjunky81 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 9:54 pm I really would like to see the SVC and OVC play against each other every year, perhaps some type of holiday tournament.
Zane Trace v Fairland
Ironton v Adena
Chesapeake v Unioto
South Point v Piketon
Portsmouth v Paint Valley
Gallia Academy v Westfall
Coal Grove v Southeastern
What an awesome event that would be

Absolutely! Two very strong basketball conferences year in and year out. Could be a big money maker for the leagues / host school and give each team pretty stiff (but fair) competition

Re: SVC 2019-20
I considered that also, but a.) the SOC 2 is a little more up and down talent wise while the OVC-SVC always seem to be a little more consistent with overall talent..... but mainly b.) the SOC 2 now has 9 teams with Eastern moving over so one team wouldn’t be able to play.

Yeah I’m not sure what someone could gather from watching starters play for 5 minutes. Especially with football just ending a week ago. Gonna take some of these kids a bitsvc_guy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 9:40 pmFirst of all, it’s really difficult to tell from previews what will really happen. But I did not see anything that changed my original thought. Zt was on cruise control and has the best player by far against a very young undermanned se team. Huntington just didn’t have the experience and horses. Pv is without arguably their best player and played hard but has some holes. Adena is long and athletic and has a lock on 2nd I believe. Piketon is big but lacks some guard play that might hurt them in some games. Wf was missing one of there better players but defensively caused a lot of issues for Unioto. Unioto has talent and I think when they shoot it well can be dangerous I’m just not sure they will do that constantly. Should be a fun league to watch this year. Good luck to these young men.svc_guy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 6:27 am ZT - Runs away with it.
Adena - Could be dangerous to ZT but need to see who will step up to replace Fout as he was a clear leader last year.
Unioto/Piketon/PV/WF - Any order you want. All have holes I expect them to beat up on each other.
SE - Young with potential with a new coach should be interesting to see how they develop.
Huntington - Experience will be the issue with them but its always tough to play on their court.
Good luck to all the teams.

Previews are a lot like summer games. When I hear we looked good in the summer it means no one has their full roster and no game planning so take it with a grain of salt.mlittle wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 10:16 pmYeah I’m not sure what someone could gather from watching starters play for 5 minutes. Re: SVC 2019-20
Any scoop on VC from any of our Vikings posters? We have them in a foundation game Tuesday and haven’t heard much about them and what they have coming into the season.
Re: SVC 2019-20
Everything I have been hearing is they will be well coached and play hard. I would take that as to mean they will be similar to last season, still rebuilding. Most think they will finish in the top half of their league though which would make them solid. Should be a good foundation game.

Thank you. I was afraid the roster would be turned over by the time someone responded.KRS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:30 pm Everything I have been hearing is they will be well coached and play hard. Re: SVC 2019-20
Circleville won most of the quarters against them. I would guess Unioto should win this one fairly easy but Combs has a way of making things difficult.
Re: SVC 2019-20
Unioto won. I believe the final score was 66-48
Every Unioto player in the scoring column but one. Led by Little with 29 and Carson Debord with 12 on 4-4 shooting from 3.
VC had 2 in double figure. One with 19 and one with 11.

Wow, it hasn't taken the Little kid very much time to transition from football to basketball. Wonder where he gets all his talent ? Lol
