Income has nothing to do with how good you are, it’s how hard you work.

So you’re saying that Kirtland just worked harder than Ironton? Do you say the same of Catholic schools with families rich enough to pay $10K+ per year? Or do they have inherent advantages? Are they born on third base but think they hit a homer? How is Kirtland different? Don’t be naive. Ironton played a great game, but Kirtland is built to win these games. Just look at the rich lady with the Here, Kitty Kitty sign. It’s smug superiority based on the reality of the income disparities. Coach Tiger said they lost a bunch of guys to injuries but they still won the game handily.

This game could have went to Ironton if they capitalized on certain opportunities. Salyers almost getting the interception, Book making the kick before half, that offsides which gave Kirtland 1st down, not stopping Kirtland on 4th. Overall a great game and great season for The Fighting Tigers!

I would love to see the numbers on how many fans showed up on the Ironton side vs the Kirtland side. Anyone have an estimate? OHSAA said the total was 4,881 people.

Very proud of my Tigers. Tickled officials let them play and weren't a factor in the outcome. Kirtland was just a better team. Still, finishing 2nd in the state is nothing to be ashamed of.
