Tough loss. Will have to go into the Tiger den and win for SOC. Don’t see either team losing another SOC game.

Did Truitt say something? I could not tell you, the call should have been a double technical. Unfair to call that on just one player, IMO.

Truitt might have said something but if he did it was under his breath. Futhey on the other hand was blatantly running his mouth and got nothing. Like was said earlier, the whole Burg crowd thought it was on him. Should have been double technicals.

I think if Burg would have gotten the lead when they were down 53-52 the outcome might h@ve been different. They had Waverly on the ropes and didn’t get the knockout.

Sure, Waverly contested a few shots but when you have 20 offensive rebounds on the night you’re probably missing a lot of shots around the basket. On at least two different occasions Burg had 4 shots and came up empty both times. These were pretty much at point blank. Can’t miss those in a game like this.

Like was said earlier, Waverly got away with a lot of jawing as well but that was all overlooked.

Talking about Robertson, kids got game. One thing with him though is most of the time when he went to drive the ball to the basket, on his stutter step he has a tendency to put his hand under the ball.before he takes off. He gets a ref that likes to call palming, could hurt him a little.
He has a nice pull up jumper as well. Those last two he hit to ice the game was from about 5 feet behind the arc.

I think that I know a few Coaches that if one of there players gets a Technical Foul called on them for whatever reason, whether it be saying something to an official, or even in the heat of the battle and losing there cool, the first thing that player would see is the end of the bench. There have been Technical Fouls called for probably as long as Basketball has been played, maybe the Rules need to be changed ? I bet you that if the Head Coach, and the said player knew that a Technical Foul being called meant that you would miss the rest of the game, as well as part of the next game, you can bet your last dollar that very few Technical Fouls would be called. This is not just meant for the Burg, as it seems as if it's happening even more often than ever. Every Head Coach has a responsibility to be in control of his own players, when that Head Coach just looks the other way, what do you think his own players are going to do when they know that there will be no repercussion's ?

Good post that should apply to all schools. Wish there was a more uniform rule from coaches across the board dealing with technicals. Some coaches punish kids with playing time, some make them run at practice, some do nothing at all. It’s definitely much different from coach to coach all through SEO.

It amazing that people in the crowd can tell what kids are saying but the men on the floor with them can't.

No it’s not. Lol. Again it’s all burg kids playing the angels. Same garbage was said in the waverly burg football game. When will other fans start realizing that their kids are punks too? Most kids are punks.

Truitt has been getting Techs since he was in 8th grade. What is he a junior now? At what point do you stop making excuses for him? Everyone in the SOC knows you can push his buttons. Same with Holden.

I’m a burg fan but that is a very true statement
I find it hard to watch them sometimes because of certain players actions on the court

I’m not. He was probably acting like a punk but don’t sit there and talk like burg kids are the only ones out there running their mouths. Kid that had a mullet from waverly was right in the thick of things along with futhey.

Waverlys players must have been a little better at it and knew what line not to cross
Stupid stuff like that does nothing but show your immaturity, selfishness and hurts your team

Bro so what if mullet man was running his trap. Go down and bust a three on him then wink at his girlfriend instead of getting a tech. Time for JJ to grow up. Sounding like a kid who got in trouble on the playground “ MULLETT MAN WAS DOING IT TOO WAH WAH WAH”

Yet it seems to be a common theme in Burg games.

The kids for burg have increased their jawing since ater got there. I agree with laser that all kids run their mouth but burg kids are getting the technicals which probably means they are making it more aware to the officials.

All kids and teams do not run their mouths. I have been to far more games this year where the players do not say a word to the other team.

Time to quit making excuses and lumping everyone together. An easy way to stop players from doing it is to have some consequences.

I was at this game. I’m sure the jawing going on was from both sides. All of this comes from the top down. From parents, Athletic Director, Principals and Coaches someone had to hear what the student section was screaming at the Waverly kids. It went on all night and not one word was said. I heard one kid scream at one of the Waverly Players “F*ck You, get out of here. I heard at another time one of the kids yell at the ref that was 5-6ft away “F*ck you, you suck!” , over and over taunting the ref. I’ve been many times down to this gym and it’s the same situation most times. Is that ok? Others from Wheelersburg had to have heard this. It was so bad I had thoughts of going to try to find the athletic director or Principal or someone and wish I would have. I’m in no way saying the Waverly kids are perfect, but be careful how you point the finger when you let this be the atmosphere of the gym. It all needs cleaned up and have some good competition without all the crap.
