Decade starting 5 and a few 6th and 7th men

Post by Sandman18 »

I saw the starting 5 from SEO thread and it had me curious. If you could make a starting 5 and a few bench players from all the players for your team in the last 10 years who would it be?

My Portsmouth Trojans starting 5 for the decade:

1. Wayne Evans (2012)...........made the winning shot with 4 seconds left in the 2011 regional final vs. Chesapeake. Back to back Final 4's.
2. Dion McKinley (2012)...........best Trojan post player of the decade.......back to back Final 4's
3. Kyre Allison (2016)............all time leading scorer in PHS history with 1,688 points. D1 scholarship to Marshall.
4. Andrew Bendolph (2011).....best lock down defender of the decade.
5. Tory Horne(2010).............smooth style to go along with 25 PPG.....highest avg. since Damond Mannon (1992).

Off the bench: 1. Jayllen Carter (2013).....set school scoring record vs. Jackson (44 pts) 2. Zaide Noel (Whitley) 2011/2012.....leading scorer in 2012 state championship game (16 pts) 3. Kendal Reynolds (2017)......4th leading scorer in PHS history (1,341 pts) 4. Sky Oliver (2015).....guard with all around skills 5. Alex Dickerson (2015)......6-2 post player with super athleticism.

My non-Portsmouth all decade team

1.Zach Carter......Ironton......dynamic scorer (24 PPG) senior year......played on Ironton's 2013 state team
2.Tre Fletcher.....Ironton.......best post player for the Fighting Tigers...also played on 2013 team
3.Nathan Copley..Chesapeake....outstanding PG for the Panthers.....led CHS to 2010 state tournament
4.Collin Van Horn....Fairland.....great post player who led Dragons to 2017 state tournament
5. Tanner Holden....Wheelersburg......starter for 4 years on the Pirates; could do just about everything on a basketball court.
6. Jake Kretzer......Waverly.......Tigers won the district his senior year. Went on to play at Wright State.
7.Austin Kennedy......Chesapeake.....6-5 wing for the 2010 Panthers state team.
8. Evan French.....Warren.....outstanding scorer for the Warriors.....scored 40 at Chillicothe in SEOAL play.....
9. Malik London.....Chillicothe.....defensive player of the decade......best shot blocker I've seen in our district.
10.Luke Thomas.....Fairland.....great shooter....played on 2017 state team....
11.Brian Rolfe.....Valley......great at both ends of the court for the Indians.

There are others that I've probably missed......but this is a good group from various schools.

Ibi transferred to Pick Central after his sophomore season. Probably thinking of Griffin Lutz that graduated from Athens in 2017.
