Peebles is the only team to beat New Boston this year. My Indians have a pretty loaded schedule the rest of the year ,including Chesapeake at Peake. And Miami Trace at home. It's gonna be an adventure.BigBoneJerome wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 10:05 pm Nice to meet everyone
Too team's
1 fairland start no seniors. Wow. Speed coaching on another level
2 Peake - fast and plays smart with no size. If it wasn't for speed then Davis for coach of the year
3. Pebbles- well rounded team. Who ever wins between them and Glenwood could go state
4 Waverly Smallwood and Robertson solid but rest struggle
5 Alex size and toughness . May be better than Waverly
6 eastern brown. Great D but can't shoot
7 oak hill boring but great coach and Hammond solid
8 north Adams #55hustle and flow
9 trimble. Stick with football
10 coal grove 3 injured but still odd team in a great lineup

IMO, Peebles should be the #1 seed in Div. IV. Their balance, depth, and overall ability to score from any position on the floor makes them very dangerous.
Re: Beast of Southeast Updates
Good to meet mattash and Pfloyd today. Talked to many today. I will probably see a few more at Dave Young Classic at North Adams next week. Safe travels all.

I drove down to spend my day at Chesapeake High school today and watch what turned out to be a great day of basketball. JV game was an excellent game closest of the day. Oak Hill played next the center #24 complete beast fun to watch. Alexander extremely impressive in the first half. Freshman #12 lit it up from long range and the point guard controls the team. Alexander could be tough in the tournament. Inside size gave Eastern Brown fits. Peebles should make a deep run in D4. Anytime you beat a team coached by Foot stomp Howie very impressive. Chesapeake manhandled North Adams. Chesapeake, continue to impress. Their speed and athletics dominated Adams. Very impressed with what Coach Davis is doing with this young team. In the night cap Fairland vs Wavverly one word DEFENSE wow. Fairland may be the best disciplined defensive team in the area. They shot poor in the first half including Thomas which is rare. Robertson from Waverly was as good as advertised but Porter from Fairland played a great defensive game on him. Porter and Thomas hit some 3’s late in the third and early in the forth that iced the game. Pretty sure Fairland only gave up 5 points in the last 10-12 min. Haven’t seen such good team defense in years. On a final note Coach Speed and staff continues to produce great teams year after year Overall great day of basketball.

Don't see Alexander going very far with Big guy only scoring 4 pts? He only had 8 against Vinton County. To bad his coach doesn't realize what he has--I guess he might notice next year.

To be fair Trimble was down a starter and they had to win on the road
