Re: Ironton-----------Fairland 1-14
I doubt Tigers can pull 4 straight wins in a row but I sure would like to see them try and upset Fairland. Ironton couldn’t of hire a better coach. I say it will be a close game I’m picking tigers by 2 to win the game.

Where is game?
I’m going to pick Fairland as they are playing at such a high level and are so good at what they do. Ironton will be one motivated team as they are building some good steam to say the least.
Ironton winning wouldn’t greatly surprise me but I can’t pick against Fairland until they show they can have a bad game.

I think Fairland will win but what I’ve notice with ironton is the weight program. A lot of the ironton kids are football players and you can see the weight room is working. I think this game will be closer than everyone thinks. Maybe 58-50 type game.

10-15 points is a pretty large margin especially with a team like Fairland who runs a lot of clock being patient with the ball...….
Re: Ironton-----------Fairland 1-14
According to a couple Burg posters, if I read them correctly, Ironton plays a pretty physical defense, with the game being at Ironton, it very well could come down as to how the officials allow the game to be played ? Should be a great atmosphere, and a very good ballgame regardless.

Re: Ironton-----------Fairland 1-14
I have seen both teams, but at different times of the season. My Trojans lost big 72-42 to Fairland early in December, while Ironton edged Portsmouth 62-61 last Friday at Ironton. The key for Ironton is to get out in front early. If the Dragons get an early advantage on the scoreboard, they become even harder to beat. They know how to play with a lead. I don't know if FHS will pressure the Fighting Tigers in some fashion, but I know that Portsmouth forced IHS into 16 turnovers with various forms of pressure defense.
Should be a close game, I don't look for either team to pull away.......if the officials allow Ironton to play physical, which is one of their strengths, that will give the Fighting Tigers an even better chance of winning. Fairland, though, has had the bullseye on them for several years now in OVC play, and they just continue to win and win and win.

There is nobody at this game, it’s sad. The Ironton unfaithful need to get out and support their team. They are pretty dagumb good!!!

Fairland waiting to see if Thomas’s shot was gonna fall put Fairland in a 16 point deficit in the 1st quarter. Porter’s intensity and Hunts defense tonight turned this game around. 4 starters with double digit points and playing as a team got it done, this wasn’t a one man show.

Re: Ironton-----------Fairland 1-14
Made an appearance at the game tonight. I must say it was an odd first quarter. Thomas gets dinged up and misses some time. Gets 3 fouls in the first half (only 5 called on both teams combined) and Fairland down 18-4 after 1. Speeds adjustments at the end of the first shined through with the pick up in pressure. Seemed to bother Ironton off and on throughout the game. As with the last time I saw Ironton (Portsmouth) turnovers were an issue. Thomas lit it up in the 3rd but Ironton hung tough. Fairland’s pressure led by Gavin Hunt in the 4th enabled the runaway win. Speed and his staff have produced another solid team. Definitely worth keeping an eye on in March.....
