Highly unusual to see open water this time of year. The Falls are usually frozen. Great pics.

Yep that's that good ole Global warming for you. Yesterday in Antartica you could have broke out the suntan lotion at 65 degrees.

Yep, and you will find it's happened many times before (being oddly warm in places) even in prehistoric times even at the top of the world. Ice and soil sample cores has proven it. The Jet stream takes many different routes up and down each year that passes. Scientist VS Scientist's. No actual fact that global warming is genuine, so I will remain non panic until it's actually proven. I'll cut my grass mowing in half this year just incase. Them mower engines sure do put out the nasty for the atmosphere. KW will be proud of me.

Comrades trenchfoot and bolt, back close to my hometown of tiksi we have shipping lane that been closed as far back as I can remember due to winter ice. Since I moved to states I assumed it was still frozen but comrades back in motherland have informed me recently it has been open for shipping the last 5 years. We in Russia embrace global warming it has given huge boost to economy.
Re: 2020 Old Mans Cave without ice
I have been on most of the winter hikes and around a half dozen have been very warm. Seen where it rained the whole time. A couple of times we didn't have our coats on. Even a few times I didn't go because it was too warm. Probably overall there has been close to a dozen that just didn't seem like it was winter. I can remember one where it was very cold and with little rain leading up to the hike there wasn't any ice. That was the day men with beards had more ice on their face than the caves had.

Don't worry, Bob. Things/climate changes sometimes. There is no time limit on the change either with mother nature. It's been doing it for thousands of years. That shipping lane will freeze again sometime. Don't sweat it.Bob Bolshavic wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 3:12 pm Comrades trenchfoot and bolt, back close to my hometown of tiksi we have shipping lane that been closed as far back as I can remember due to winter ice. Oh comrade trenchfoot we don't want it to freeze back over. Shipping is good year around. We don't have records that go back thousands of years so nobody really knows but I hope it stay thawed for long time.
