I’d rather VC drop Crooksville in week 2 and play Fort. Also, RV is the week 10 non conference team, so you may be able to reach out to them for that week.

Did you really just pull the "Nelsonville-York" card again? You people are unbearable. Also, did you not notice that Nelsonville dropped Fort Frye? So that's one TVC Ohio school that doesn't seem to want them in.

If not renewing a two-year home and home series against a non-conference opponent is considered "dropping", then pretty much every school drops multiple schools every season. Trimble is the only non-conference team that NY plays year after year. The other three nonconference games in 2020 are Fort Frye, Berne Union and Oak Hill. In 2018, those three games were played against Martins Ferry, Minford and Waverly. In 2016, those three games were played against Newark Catholic, Liberty Center and Logan. No one wants to play the same 10 schools year after year. You have to have some variety in the schedule.

Fort Frye wanted to keep the game going. It could of been a nice rivalry with big gates.

NY picked up Newark Catholic again for week 2 I believe. NY and NC has been one of the longer non conference series NY has had lately with great respect between the two schools. On the other hand I agree with Dspy, I wish the game would continue as well.

Fort Frye plays TVC Ohio teams in all sports and their record is more than respectable. It just is not a good fit.

The truth is that we'd rather play on turf than grass. I'm not knocking Fort Frye's field, we would just rather play as may games as possible on turf fields.

Newark Catholic might have more accolades but they are not a better team for NY to play and I’ll tell you why. Fort Frye has lost 1 game the last 5 years in the reg season a win over Fort will almost guarantee you more playoff points. NC plays a schedule that is just insane.

Probably going to get some flack for this but not wanting to play somebody because the field isn’t turf is a pretty dumb reason not to play somebody in my opinion. Turf isn’t something everybody can just go out and get.

Uniforms stay cleaner and tend to hold up better, playing surface is consistent with turf.
Minus Trimble who we know turf probably isn't an option, their is nothing wrong with making your other non league games on turf.
