Kat Davis had 31 of Bellaire's 46. Shame she couldn't get more help from her team. She is the real deal.
Scoring did not show the outstanding job Kenzie Dalton did trying to defend her (in her face all night).
Good defense by the entire team helped shut down the other Bellaire scorers.
Hannah Archer was leading scorer for the Fort, with Kiersten Kesselring also having a good offensive game as well.
FF Jv's also won 44-12

Agree on Dalton's defense. A couple of fouls went against her when her defense was excellent, yet Kat was rewarded for initiating contact. Bellaire played with very good pressure on perimeter defense which was a good test for FF.rickoshay wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 11:00 pm Kat Davis had 31 of Bellaire's 46. Going to be a heckuva game. UL hasn't lost so I'll give them the nod by 3 pts.

It was a heckuva game like I thought, but big congrats to Lady Cadets. Long trip worthwhile for them.

It’s a shame Fort Frye isn’t ranked in D4. I think they are the favorite to get to state.carbon_dated wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 8:55 pm It was a heckuva game like I thought, but big congrats to Lady Cadets. Long trip worthwhile for them.

I listened to the game on WJAW, great job guys. And kudos to Coach Liedtke and the Lady Cadets, great game plan and you took down an undefeated team. Really enjoyed the broadcast and happy that the Lady Cadets are the OVAC AAA champs! Good luck going into the tournament.

Reading about the game, it sounds like such a signature Liedtke win. His teams force you to grind out a 30-40 second possession and settle for your third or fourth-best shot time after time. On offense, they know the shots they're looking for and don't take bad ones. I haven't seen the girls play this year, but I've seen it a hundred times. If I remember my newspaper quotes correctly, this is the group of girls that had Dan excited enough to continue coaching when he was considering retirement after his daughters graduated.

Good shots at one time in a game may not be good shots at another time in the game. Time and score have to play a part. On open three by a good shooter in a tie game in the 2nd quarter is a good shot, but the same shot when you are up 5 with 3 min left in the 4th qtr may not be.

Is this just comment in general, or are there some specific shots in this game you’re referring too?mhs95_06 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 10:22 am Good shots at one time in a game may not be good shots at another time in the game. It is a general comment, but prompted by observations of this game. I thought a couple of trey attempts were taken there in the last 3 or 4 minutes by FF that a better decision would have been to pass up and continue the possession. They did attempt a couple of contested lay-up attempts that missed that I thought were much better decisions to try. Try to use open trey attempts by competent shooters to gain control of the game, but do not take a chance to die by the trey by attempting them when you are in control of the game.Jveyon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 4:41 pmIs this just comment in general, or are there some specific shots in this game you’re referring too?mhs95_06 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 10:22 am Good shots at one time in a game may not be good shots at another time in the game.
