Lady Oaks
Re: Lady Oaks
You can be very athletic without being a great athlete. And being a great athlete isn't about stats either. It's about being a leader and making the team around you better. A great athlete would have led this team to a better than .500 or .600 season.

And the only time that this ball-hogging and being able to score as a result is against teams that are less skilled and says even more about the "great athlete". When playing against teams that truly have athletes that know the game of basketball and have been on the court in AAU for years and can play circles around these "great athletes" that are just "school ball players" that ball hog to get their stats, they can't seem to score. And in the game of basketball, ball-hogging is the most SELFISH thing you can do as it is a TEAM effort and should have even scoring, especially if you have a coach that sees to that and doesn't play favorites. And when playing tough teams this "ball-hogging" results in losses and these "great athletes" can't score to get their "stats".
Calling a young lady names behind a computer screen is spineless and cowardly!
Just bc someone says she’s a great all- around athlete you have to call her a ball hog???
It was just an opinion. As you have yours...
BUT, enough of the name calling.

There are times during the course of a game a player, for the good of the team, tries to do much, tries to carry to much of the load. There are times during the course of a game, for the good of the team, a player is asked to do to much, to carry to much of the load.
Everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion/perspective based on their observations and available information. There are times when opinions/perspectives are created based on a limited amount of information. Based on my observations and background information collected over the last 8 years, stat padding is not this player’s or team’s objective.
There are a lot of great athletes and players in our area and stats are impacted by the skill level of the player and team you are going up against night to night. Sometimes the team wins sometimes the team loses. Sometimes the stats come easily and sometimes not so easily.
Go Lady Oaks.
Go team.

So what you're saying is the rest of the team isn't good enough and has to rely on one person the carry the load? Maybe other players would step up if given the opportunity??

Not what I was trying to say. Sorry if it read that way. Proud of this team and have seen several different players on the team step up at different times during a game and from one game to the next. There is a lot of talent on this team. I just don’t think any player on the team is playing selfishly or thinking about padding stats during the course of any game.
Looking forward to the tournament.

Re: Lady Oaks
???? A great leader is a great leader, many great leaders were not athletic. Being athletic and a great athlete has to do with agility, balance, quickness and grace. Has nothing to do with leadership.

Re: Lady Oaks
Well it wasn't the best mistake free game I'm sure that either team played during the season, but the only thing that counts at this stage of the year is to have at least 1 more point on your side of the scoreboard when that final horn sounds. It's win and advance from here on out and the Lady Oaks were able to do that tonight 52-50 over Meigs Eastern. Give Meigs Eastern credit, just when it seemed as if OH was ready to put the game away with a couple min left, and a 6-7 point lead, ME would come down and bank in a 3, witch I'm pretty sure they did at least 3 times. Caitlyn Brisker led the Lady Oaks in scoring with 22 pts followed closely by Chloe Chambers with 16 points. The Lady Oaks advance to the Sec. Finals against Northwest on Saturday at 2:45 PM at Valley High School.

Re: Lady Oaks
That old saying about it sometimes being very hard to beat a team 3 times in a season certainly rang true for the Lady Mohawks of Northwest today. The Lady Mohawks have one of the better teams that they have had in recent years, certainly showing in there overall record, and should be a pretty good team again next year as I think they only have 1 senior on the team. After the Mohawks scored the first basket of the game, and I think that the Lady Oaks answered with maybe a 3 to take the lead, Caitlyn Brisker then scored a basket followed by 3 straight 3's to kick start the Lady Oaks toward an 18-7 first Qtr lead. The Lady Mohawks then cut into the 11 pt lead getting it down to a 22-18 and a 4 pt margin at the half. After OH had a 36-25 lead at the end of 3 Qtr's, I'm pretty sure that Northwest cut the lead down to 3 pts at one time in the 4 th Qtr, before OH was able to close out the game, and come away with a 52-42 victory. Caitlyn Brisker led the Lady Oaks with 27 pts followed by Olivia Clarkson with 13 pts. The Lady Oaks now advance to the Dist Semi Finals against the winner of Southeastern and Fairland at Waverly on 2-20 at 8:00.
Re: Lady Oaks
On the Oak Hill website it says that the game tomorrow at Portsmouth West has been postponed, does anyone know if that is accurate ?
