Congrats to Mark Lafon and Jeff Lisath

The Ohio High Basketball Coaches Association will honor Mark Lafon and Jeff Lisath on being recipients of the 300+ wins Century Award; at the State Tournament Saturday, March 21 st @ halftime of the 2:00 p.m. Division IV Finals. Congratulations to both of these fine former SE coaches. Lisath guided his Northridge team to the Regional Finals last year losing to eventual state champion Trotwood Madison.

Congratulations to both coaches. 300+ wins is a hallmark of consistency and longevity, and both also have coached in the Final 4. Lisath with Piketon in 2009 and Lafon with Ironton in 2013. Lisath is one of the rare individuals in the coaching fraternity that has been a head coach in the Final 4, won a state championship as a player (Portsmouth 1978), and led the team in scoring in that Final 4.

Doesn't look like these fine man will get their awards this year unfortunately. I would guess they will next year. Side note: A Rio grad told me Lisath is a front runner for the head coaching position at Rio Grande. Lisath coached three years at Columbus State and I believe he was a grad asst. at Miami back in the 80's.
