Ohio (1-2) vs. Marshall (0-2?)

Post by LoganElm_grad09 »

Cats lost to Ohio State 43-7, Marshall I don't know if they played last night or what.

I think our defense can hold Marshall offense better than they did against Ohio State, but they have to score points. Offense hasn't shown up to play yet this season. The special teams looked significantly improved from last game against Toledo. And for God's sake cut down on the turnovers and stupid penalties! The penalty that nulled the touchdown in the first quarter of the OSU game wasn't even needed!

I'll be cheering until the game is over, but if we don't stop shooting ourselves in the foot, Marshall wins this one.

Marshall played 2 very tough teams to start the season and came out flat against BG. Not only were they flat they did not show hustle during the game. To many times a lot of defensive players standing straight up. They would play well in spurts then terrible again. Time to give the freshman more of a chance to play and sit Anderson down. He is a backup QB who plays alright at times but not consistent as you need to led for a season. The team that loses this game could be in for a long season.

Hard to bounce back from loss to WV when you put so much into it and get beat the way they did.

Yes it is hard to bounce back but they have players standing straight up during plays is inexcusable. This is a new coaching staff that doesn't seem to have it all together and keeping the players motivated to playing better.
Some schools schedule off weeks either before or after big games. Marshall thought playing BG would be easy but there are no easy wins if your team does not play hard all the time.

I believe Marshall went into the tank after a hard fought tuff loss to WVU that they should have won. Marshall is in a funk right now and if they don't pull out of it they will be lucky to post a winning season.

If OU develops some offense, doesn't have to be a ton but able to put together long drives (or short ones with scores), I think they win. Given the yardage they've had to deal with, they should've given up at least 80 points by now.

Marshall is not a very good football team. They have a new coaching staff. Their coaches can recruit, but can they coach? You have to give them at least a D grade so far. To me, the Bowling Green game was not that bad of a loss. Bowling Green is a great home team and Marshall is about on par with most Mid American Conference teams. However, to Marshall fans, they won't agree. I look for Coach Solich to come in and pull off a mild upset (only because it is a MAC road game) Ill go with 30-27.
