Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!
Wear masks, social distance, what’s so hard here. All medical doctors nationwide saying same thing. But on here it’s a total different idea. Paladin if the list keeps growing how will those affected not playing vs teams trying or thinking they’re going to play end up week to week you don’t know if there’s a team to play next Friday nite. Gonna be interesting watching from hill sides, or parking lots or live streams if that. Will school districts hire monitors at gates to temp check, make sure of social distancing, everyone has mask on. Will gate prices double to make up for loss revenue. How will concesssion stands be run. Will bathrooms be open, how many school buses will be needed. Will bands perform, how about screaming and yelling at games, will there be a coin flip, water bottles in heat of summer, how many people in press boxes, line crews, where will all the scouts from visiting schools be, if any. Radio people mixed in with press box crew, tailgating in parking lots on school property lines of people getting into stadiums

To my knowledge, burg and northwest and the public libraries will be open tomorrow

DeWine should feel comfortable with whatever decision he makes. A new Quinnipiac poll shows the people of Ohio approve of his administration by 75% to a disapproval of 19%. That mirrors the common population attitudes of education over playing football which is viewed as risky.

Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!
We have knew that all along, but the 19percent no matter what ideas by a authority figure is of this response on any matter. I just saw where the New York Marathon for this fall has been cancelled for first time in 50 years also. In casinos now you have to wear a mask unless eating or drinking. Im in favor in Ohio of everyone wearing a mask while out in public. Its being tossed around right now and I hope it becomes something that everyone will have to do. Wear a mask, social distance , check temps. The enemy is still here, its not going away until vaccine or people follow guidelines to stop the levels rising.
Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!
STOP TROLLING!!!! We're supposed to be here to talk about football!! I could care less about a Quinnipiac poll or the New York marathon. You are both trolls who need to take yourselves to a political forum because you obviously have zero interest in the kids and HS football..

Burg had practice again today! Not hypothetically either, they actually practiced.

I don’t take anything serious from a state governor allowing protestors to run amuck, no social distancing, no threat of repercussions for not wearing masks, allowing them to take over city blocks and destroy public and private property with no threats of penalties or fines! Telling our law enforcement to back off! Telling us, that they have a freaking constitutional right to protest, but the rest of you law abiding citizens still be bullied by our state and local governments, following their “orders!”
I was ok at the beginning, but when that hypocrisy took place, no respect for Dewine or any mayor or state congressman at all from me. Either were in this together, or were not!

Mental midgets need reminded-
It’s not just the thousands of deaths.
It’s also the thousands who are left suffering for life with scarred and inflamed lungs.
It’s also the thousands who recover but suffer for months in a hospital.
And now, a new fear - the asymptomatic, even the young, now show on x-rays that they also show scarred lungs. No pain but for how long ? Will they develope lung problems in a few years ? Decade ? Or two ? Will their lives eventually be effected ?
All for a game ?
Doctors and scientists advise politicans who make decisions that affect us all. Will they sacrifice hundreds of thousands, maybe millions to death, pain and suffering ?
Or, play a game ?

Burg will have an actual practice again tomorrow, not a virtual one.

Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!
I have read several articles on long term possibilities due to Covid, from abc, to vox and HuffPost, very liberal leaning publications. Everyone of them said they can only predict long term effects, using SARS and Mers data. “ He has already seen residual scarring in Covid-19 patients and is now designing a study to identify what factors might make some people at higher risk of permanent damage. He suspects having any type of underlying lung disease, like asthma, or other health conditions, like hypertension, might increase the risk of having longer-term lung issues. Additionally, “the older you are, probably the higher your chance of scarring,” he says”. Nothing is set in stone, but from the past several other pandemics we can get decent estimates.

Contact tracing is a joke in its current form. i just happen to be married to a very good attorney and she says you are full of crap! Zero chance of those cases even being heard let alone won. The whole world is still laughing at you. you just blab and fear mongerPaladin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 4:27 pm Blitz, surely you aren’t that stupid. On the other hand, maybe you are.
Ever hear of contact tracing ? That’s what they do now to trace where people are and who they come in contact with. A school is a sitting duck. If a student, teacher, coach, support staff tests positive for the virus, by virtue of being in the school , they expose others to the virus. A good attorney won’t have a problem making it stick and will have scientific evidence to back him up. Contact tracing will identify everyone infected and where they got it.

Typical lefty feels the needs to call people stupid when someone threatens their agendas. That shows lack of intelligence itself. Blitz is correct, you will never see it in court. Let me ask you this, would it make you happy to see an outbreak at a school or community just so you can say told you so? Is this what the far left wants to see happen so maybe they can blame it on the Trump administration? This is the vibe i get from those two, i think they would be more than thrilled to see this get really bad.

Married to a smart lady, by saying someone can find a school liable you would be able to find all places liable. You choose to go into Wal-Mart, planes, beaches, restaurants, work, so I guess he's trying to say there's going to be over 2 million people who are going to have court cases because a lawyer can make it stick. You think colleges being fearful of liability as you say would've let players come back?? You don't think they done just a bit of research and spent way more money to find that answer out?? Smh head when ppl try to use the liability card, heck it started in Wuhan so at least we know the origin, lawyer up.Blitz wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 1:59 pmContact tracing is a joke in its current form. i just happen to be married to a very good attorney and she says you are full of crap! I want DeWine to step and bite the bullet for the football season soon to be gone. And not put the responsibility on local school

Greenville County South Carolina suspends summer practices for school athletes. Keep in mind South Carolina infection rates for covid -19 are soaring and Ohio's are not, but it shows how nebulous the actual playing of the 2020 football season may be.

Football players on the field should be fine since they are wearing face masks. It’s the fans I’m worried about

If numbers keep going up, that's probably what's coming. I've tried to stay positive, but every rumor of new cases (and I'm hearing them locally) makes me think high school football this fall getting more and more unlikely. Right now my guess is OHSAA allows conditioning through end of July and then a Dewine shutdown announcement comes right before full contact is to begin August 1. Again, hope I'm wrong and will gladly eat my crow if so.*countywide35 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 7:40 pmPaladin wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 6:44 am DeWine should feel comfortable with whatever decision he makes. Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!
We have a certain segment of the population who refuses to wear masks, won’t social distance and lives life as if nothing is wrong. Since DeWine opened things up, these people refused to follow the rules. And now, all the work is going down the tubes. It’s blowing back up again. Same on the national level where politics is making the pandemic much worse.
Things are not looking good.
