Nice read, it's one we're all hoping doesn't happen but the likely hood is growing more and more each day that there simply won't be football this fall. As far as moving it to spring, I'm not even sure how one would pull that off especially if you're a small school. With most smaller schools relying on athletes to play 2-3 sports seems like something would have to give there.

Smaller schools could play football instead of baseball in the spring.

So what are you doing with baseball at that point?NYBuckeye96 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 9:11 pm Smaller schools could play football instead of baseball in the spring.

Exactly, are you just sacrificing spring sports and those athletes for two seasons? That would just not be right.greygoose wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 9:53 pmSo what are you doing with baseball at that point?NYBuckeye96 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 9:11 pm Smaller schools could play football instead of baseball in the spring.

No way a school would cancel baseball for football. Sure they would rather play football but it just wouldn’t be fair to the students.

Another question.... What about track and field?NYBuckeye96 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 9:11 pm Smaller schools could play football instead of baseball in the spring.
A kid can't play football on Friday and then be expected to run in a track meet on Saturday.
Championship's are won in the off-season

I seriously doubt we have any sports this year at this point.

My guess is that that each season would be shortened and spring sports would run into June (and probably no playoffs).greygoose wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 8:58 pm Nice read, it's one we're all hoping doesn't happen but the likely hood is growing more and more each day that there simply won't be football this fall. But it doesn’t seem like people have really talked about how winter sports will factor in either - there’s no guarantee that those happen or begin on time at this point.

I don’t think switching seasons around helps anything if it’s to bad to play football it’s to bad to play anything else the other sports are not contact but you still can’t stay 6 feet apart

Good read and the proposal isn't bad to be honest but there's some question marks. I can't help but to think though if they're starting practices Feb. 1st and games at the end of February and even scrimmaging in the middle of February, that's pretty much dead of winter for around here and the northern part of the start even worse. Seems like you'd need to push that time table back a month or so, but one thing is for sure a decision is going to need to be made. Especially for these schools located in the hot spotsOmega wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 6:52 pm Ohio Central District football coaches float spring schedule proposal:

They will not cost spring sports another season. You can't take two seasons away from kids that bust their ass. Football and soccer can just take their licks like the spring sports did if they are not allowed to play.

While we all hope for a somewhat normal fall football campaign, it is good that a group with some credibility is thinking about a Plan B. Maybe by the 22'-23' school year normalcy will prevail.greygoose wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 7:33 pmGood read and the proposal isn't bad to be honest but there's some question marks. From what they've said this is true, I think it's also another reason to believe that the possibility of playing in the spring could be a very real thing. They need that revenue and they will be much more open-minded for a seasonal movement as compared to a cancellation all together.formerfcfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:14 pmOHSAA goes broke if there isn't football revenue.25th Street NW wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 7:45 pm They will not cost spring sports another season. Look on the OHSAA twitter page. It says it right on there.
OHSFCA said they did not make a proposal. All rumors. The statement is also on the OHSFCA twitter.
If somebody knows how to paste it on here do it because I can't figure it out.
