Out of State competition is restricted to border counties.
Ashland and Greenup County can play Ironton, Wheelersburg etc

Coal Grove is out an opener. Was suppose to play Fairview week one.
Re: Kentucky passes Fall Sports with provisions.
This would not automatically preclude games against teams from Boyd or Greenup Counties, any differences in season start dates may be problematic.

Looks like Ironton is down to a 9 game schedule as well with the loss of week 2 Russell.

This looks to be Ohio's fate as well, we have neighboring states that have districts that are delaying the start, and we have districts in our own state doing the same. Have to believe it will be the fate of the whole state and the season will be played but with reduced games.

Wheelersburg is scheduled to play @ Ashland on 9/11.The Regulator wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 12:04 pm Just heard Ashland will not be playing there first 3 games and will open at Ironton September 11th.
Ironton is scheduled to play Fairland 9/11.
Ashland is scheduled to play Ironton 9/18.
Unless several moves have been made such as Burg/Ashland contract being dissolved and Fairland/Ironton game being moved to 9/18 since Fairland is/was scheduled against Tolsia WV on 9/18. Didn’t WV push their season start date back to late September or early October? Of course schedules are going to shift with everything going on. I would hate to lose the Ashland game though.

Not sure about WV. I had heard that from an Ashland parent but not sure how reliable they areProud_Pirate63 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 12:22 pmWheelersburg is scheduled to play @ Ashland on 9/11.The Regulator wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 12:04 pm Just heard Ashland will not be playing there first 3 games and will open at Ironton September 11th.

WV first games can start September 4th.

The Burg looks good on schedule unless of course OHSAA reduces the number of games allowed by pushing back the start in Ohio.

Kentucky also voted to limit the number of players allowed in uniform on the sideline to only 60 players. Kentucky elected to have a 9 game regular season.

With Kentucky’s new rules in place, the only way a Kentucky school could play an out of state opponent is if the school is in a bordering county of Kentucky. Ashland is in Boyd County which is not bordering Scioto County. So wouldn’t that mean Ashland and Wheelersburg couldn’t play each other?

Also per Zach Klemme’s Twitter, the Russell-Ironton game has been cancelled.

We need to see what Ohio passes first. We could probably see a push back for ours too
