Not looking good at all for football. It’s requiring everyone on the team to test for COVID, “one fail then all fail.”
Re: New Health Order for Contact /Non Contact Sports (8/1)
I just don’t see how schools are going to be able to do all of this every player has to be tested within 3 days of the game and the results have to be presented before they can play??? At least I think that’s what they meant

That was for 7 on 7's that was put in place for July. They extended it for August as of now
The OHSAA has asked that testing not be a requirement for contact sports. We will know Tuesday.
Championship's are won in the off-season

Testing needs to go away or it will kill it.Orange and Brown wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 7:52 pmThat was for 7 on 7's that was put in place for July. They extended it for August as of now

From flatten curve to no exposure is acceptable. It is what it is.

It’s impossible to test everyone days before a game and possibly not have results in 3 days. Somebody said possibly no testing but what if a kid somehow gets it and passed to his team or the kid who tackles him or guards him and there parents or grandparents catch it. I want football more than anyone but these rules are going to make it very hard. Some states wait a week or 2 before they get results. This is so confusing and I feel for the kids and coaches dealing with this.

There will be more players get lifelong injuries by playing the game of football than there will be from getting COVID. For a kid, if they get the virus, they will be OK in a week. Injuries like blown out knees, broken fingers and concussions happen every season. PLAY THE GAME!

If they do t lift the mandatory testing....there will be no contact sports this fall

And with this mandate, we just saw the end of football for us this fall. At this point, we need to push our schools to lobby for the spring schedule that has been discussed.

It wouldn’t be fair to the other teams if they played in the spring. Most of the players also play football and they wouldn’t be able to play both.

If we had approached it differently, I believe we would have a Better chance of having having football in the fall of 2020.
Would a round of stimulus money directed to schools help fight this ? These school districts are going to have their work cut out for them. Teaching in a classroom. Then contact sports. it’s gonna take a lot and I stress ALOT to make all this happen.

Exactly what would more money do for the schools to fight Covid?
If you were in charge in Washington, what would you have done differently?

Well I was think money would help combat some of the guidelines and requirements to play. That’s a ALOT of covid testing for schools on a week to week deal. Some of these football teams have 50-70kids on them. Yikes !
If I was in Washington this morning, I’d ask. How the HEck did England do it so much better than us ?? What did they do so right To not only flatten the curve. But KEEP it there.
