The Cincinnati Bengals are now in the clear when it comes to the NFL's adjusted 80-man roster limit before workouts begin Tuesday. Monday, the Bengals announced a trio of moves, sending Josh Tupou to the opt-out list, and waiving tight end Moritz Bohringer and running back Devwah Whaley. Bohringer was a player assigned to the Bengals via a prior NFL program that gave overseas players to rosters. Whaley was an undrafted running back but was joining one of the deepest positions on the roster.

Rookie QB Joe Burrow and a few of his Bengals teammates have all the space that a QB would ever want. As the Bengals work through the early phase of training camp, Burrow and the other three QB on the roster Ryan Finley, Jake Dolegala and Brandon Allen are taking isolation to another level. According to coach Zak Taylor, each of them is in a separate room during virtual workouts, as Cincinnati takes the necessary precautions to keep them healthy during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bengals have placed Renell Wren on the active/non-football ( undisclosed ) injury list. Wren played a reserve roll in 11 games with the Bengals as a rookie before landing on IR due to a hip injury, so it's possible his current issue is related. In that case, he probably stands to compete for a depth job when he is back to full health.

Cincinnati has placed guard Xavier Su'a-Filo on the Physically unable to perform list. Su'a-Filo has appeared in 19 games for the Dallas Cowboys over the last two seasons with 12 total starts. He was a 2nd Rd pick of the Houston Texans in2014.

The Cincinnati Bengals finished in the bottom half of the league in almost every statistical category last season. After finishing 2-14, things can only go up from here. The team said goodbye to a few of their prominent players from the Marvin Lewis era, including Andy Dalton, Tyler Eifert, Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard. They signed 8 free agents including 6 projected starters and added another 7 players, including QB Joe Burrow in the draft. The aggressiveness has been praised by both the players and the coaches this offseason. The culture change has created a lot of optimism about the future.

After injuries derailed him in 2018, he's attempting a comeback this year. He has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of training camp. The Bengals selected Hill out of LSU in the 2nd Rd of the 2014 NFL draft.
Well that didn't last long, two days after officially signing former Bengals RB Jeremy Hill, the Raiders have cut Hill. He has not played since tearing his ACL while with the Patriots in the 2018 season opener. That was his first season with the Patriots after spending four seasons with the Bengals. Why even sign the guy in the first place, unless it's somehow has something to do with his knee ?

Joe Mixon is apparently willing to play football, not simply on the field for the Bengals , but also at the negotiating table heading into the 2020 NFL season. The former 2nd Rd pick is entering the final season of a 4-year, 5.45 million rookie deal and is to make 1.2 million in base salary, that is unless he and the team can agree to terms on an extension, something that they have long begun working toward.

The Bengals have activated Kendall Futrell from the reserve/Covid-19 list Thursday, per the NFL's official transactions report. Futrell spent over a week on the reserve list, but he's now gained full clearance to join his teammates at the early portion of training camp. The undrafted rookie out of East Carolina is attempting to carve out a reserve role in the Bengals linebacker corps.

Former Buckeye Billy Price's career has not gone as planned so far. Drafted to be the Bengals starting center in the 2018 NFL draft, Price has been plaged with injuries, and was moved to guard following the emergence of Trey Hopkins. But hopefully Price's fortunes should be changing pretty soon. In January Price went to Dallas, Texas to work with offensive line guru Duke Mayweather, who gave him a full evaluation. Within a week and a half, my back was feeling fine. In fact it appears that it possibly not even a back injury, but quite possibly hip tightness. He's now doing what he calls preventative maintenance to avoid another foot injury. He also said that his feet and his mental health are now fantastic.

Akeem Davis-Gaither is 6'2", 220lb, 23 yr old Appalachian State football player that the Bengals drafted as the second of three linebackers that they drafted in this years NFL draft. Davis-Gaither is a shifty and crafty second-level defender that has had success playing multiple positions for a defense in his collegiate career. His versatility will be counted on as soon as he takes his first snaps in the NFL.

Lost in some of the Joe Burrow Hype is the fact that the Bengals technically get to see the debut of two first Rd picks in 2020 thanks to the arrival of Jonah Williams. After missing all of his rookie season last year, is a guy the Bengals will count on to protect Burrow from that left tackle position. It has been said that Williams stringent offseason regiment transformed his body something confirmed by offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. Callahan also said that what ended up happened with Williams was that he got a year to reshape his body. Williams put in some work with Joe Staley this offseason, and wasn't shy about sharing his workouts on social media.

The Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff constantly raved about Joe Burrow's mental preparedness during offseason Zoom meetings. Now that the Bengals are on the practice field, It's time for the rookie quarterbacks teammates to join the chorus. I think he knows his stuff. He's making the appropriate reads and checks, veteran tight end C.J. Uzomah said of Burrow. He's going to be one of the boys for sure. He has a certain confidence in himself, and you can tell he has the confidence in us to do what we need to do. I like him so far, I like what he brings to the table. That poise that he has, the moxie that he has is nice.

Veteran defensive tackle Mike Daniels is in Cincinnati taking a physical, a Covid-19 test and meeting with the team. Daniels, 31, spent last season in Detroit. The Packers drafted him in the 4th round in 2012. Daniels played seven seasons in Green Bay. The Bengals have been looking around, as they most certainly need another defensive tackle.

After a series of free-agent pickups and draft picks, the Bengals head into the 2020 season with a linebacker room they hope is better equipped to deal with what is trending with the NFL offenses. Improvement will not only depend on the development of the promising young players, like Germaine Pratt, Logan Wilson and Akeem Davis-Gaither , but also the integration of a savvy veteran like Josh Bynes.

The Cincinnati Bengals have waived defensive tackle Tyler Clark. Clark had signed with the Bengals back on April 28th as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia. This will clear the way for the Bengals to sign defensive tackle Mike Daniels to join the roster.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross has left the Bengals training camp to return to Los Angles to take care of his son who has tested positive for Covid-19. The NFL Network has also reported that Ross's son, and the son's mother both have tested positive for Covid-19. The Bengals likely will place Ross on the reserve-Covid-19 list while he is in Los Angles, but the team has yet to do so.

If you can remember when the Bengals had three defensive tackles this good, three guys that have been on an NFL Top 100 list at one time or another, you've earned the right to go to the head of the class. That's what they've got now after Mike Daniels signed a contract with the Bengals, someone able to spell Geno Atkins and D.J. Reader in a backup, but a very key roll. All three of these guys are a reckoning force against the run, and they are just as good in the passing game. They are not only great players, but they are great leaders as well.

The Bengals are really hoping that they haven't lost Trae Waynes for two months with a pectoral injury, although that's what initial reports seem to indicate. It's also being reported that he is seeking a second opinion. Trae Waynes was one of the big free-agent signings this past offseason, as the Bengals signed the former Michigan State defensive back to a three year contract. Bengals head coach had nothing to say about the injury, except to say that they've got a heck of a lot more depth at cornerback this August than what they had laqst August.

The Cincinnati Bengals have activated nose tackle Renell Wren from the non-football injury list on Thursday after he passed his physical with the team. Wren spent just over a week on the list with an undisclosed injury. Wren was a 4th Rd pick last year by the Bengals out of Arizona State.

Could it be possible that Giovani Bernard's day's in Cincinnati be numbered ? He has been with the Bengals for seven years, but over the past couple seasons his production and efficiency have crated to dire levels. ( I would think that would app[y to just about everyone on the team.) Bernard signed his current deal as a two-year extension last offseason, slotting him in as the 15th highest paid running back in the league. The problem being is his production and his roll in the offense doesn't come close to justifying that deal.
