Eastern Kentucky University Kicker Landon White has decided to quit the football team. In a social media post he accuses the FCS program of being lax as far as the testing for the coronavirus pandemic and also following the proper protocols. He said that the last time that the team was tested was on July 6th. and that 1st yr coach Walt Wells knows about it, but does nothing about it. He says the only thing that coach Wells cares about, is a big payout that EKU will receive when playing West Virginia in Morgantown on Sept 12th. Probably best that White did quit and goes and kicks for someone else, as it just seems as if maybe he and the coach just don't get along that well.

Big 10 players which you would assume some to be Buckeyes have issued a list of demands to protect athletes in the age of covid-19.

Ohio State linebacker Justin Hilliard is confident in the 2020 season and the leadership Structure at Ohio State. This is mostly the mentality of the Ohio State football team as the 2020 college football season approaches. One of the captains of the Buckeyes, the 6th yr linebacker does not see his final year as a Buckeye being scrapped with the Covid-19 pandemic ongoing. It's going to be a challenge no doubt, but I am 100% confident that we will be able to adapt to it. If I'm not mistaken, and the "game" is able to be played," this very well could be Justin Hilliard's " 6th " pair of " gold pants," and I'm pretty sure that he would be the only player to have ever won 6 pair.

Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley, who is ranked as the #9 overall prospect and #1 ranked cornerback for the 2021 NFL draft, announced that he will not play this fall, instead choosing to start preparing for his professional football career. He may be the first to opt out, but I have an idea he won't be the last. If they decide to move this fall's season to the spring, I think you will see a lot of players decide not to play in the spring.
The reigning Big Ten receiver of the year in 2019, has decided to opt out of the 2020 season. Minnesota Gopher junior Rashod Bateman said that he will not play in the 2020 football season in light of the uncertainty surrounding the health and safety in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, and instead declare for the 2021 NFL draft.
Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons is expected to opt out of the 2020 college football season and declare for the 2021 NFL draft. Parsons is expected to make the decision official Wednesday morning. Multiple people close to the Penn State program are expecting him to leave barring a last minute change of heart.
Greg Rousseau's career as a Miami Hurricane appears to be over. The star defensive end said that he would be opting out of the 2020 college football season. A redshirt sophomore would be entering his third year at Miami, meaning that he can now enter the 2021 NFL draft. He is projected to be a very high draft pick if and when he declares.

Ohio State may have missed out on a chance for revenge this year as Purdue's star receiver Rondale Moore has decided to opt out of the 2020 season. Moore played just four games last season because of injuries, but probably the most impressive game that he played was against the Buckeyes in 2018, when he finished with 12 catches for 170 yd and 2 touchdowns to lead Purdue to a lopsided 49-20 win over the top ranked Buckeyes.

Texas Tech has fired women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings. Texas Tech made the announcement Thursday evening following a mass exodus of players, who accused Stollings of verbal abuse and creating a toxic atmosphere. Twelve of the 21 women who played for Texas Tech since Stollings took over the program in 2018 have left the program. A USA Today investigation published Wed. obtained exit interviews that players had with the school. Players said in some of the interviews that they felt ridiculed and isolated under Stollings, and also accused former strength and conditioning coach Ralph Petrella of berating and sexually harassing them. Stollings recruited seven of the twelve players that left. Marlene was an outstanding basketball player in high school at Pike Eastern, and I think that she is still the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball in the State of Ohio.

Maryland football coach Mike Locksley announced Friday that seven Terrapin football players will not play this 2020 season. Included in these 7 players is potentially their starting QB Josh Jackson, plus 3 other projected starters. One of the 7 is being held out because of medical concerns. The Buckeyes road trip to Maryland, sandwiched between games against Michigan and Penn State could have been considered a trap game, but that game looks a little less dangerous after all the recent news out of College Park.

Texas Tech has fired assistant women's basketball coach Nikita Lowry Dawkins on Friday morning hours after dismissing head coach Marlene Stollings on Thursday, amid allegations that she mistreated her players. The firing of both women comes after a report that alleged abuse by Stollings, Dawkins and former strength and conditioning coach Ralph Petrela.

Michigan State has had two players opt out of the 2020 season because of Covid-19 concerns. Both players expect to return to the team in 2021. Senior Jordan Reid, who has started 27 out of 39 career games at right tackle announced his decision to sit out on Friday. Senior Jacub Panasiuk also said this week that he would take a redshirt year and also return for his 5th season in 2021.

The Big 10 will not proceed forward with padded football practices until futher notice. The Big Ten's progress toward a football season has screeced to a halt. The conference announced in a statement on Saturday morning that it will not allow it's football teams to move forward to padded, full contact practices until futher notice.

Coach Ryan Day said he couldn't say enough about the leadership on his team. We probably could have had 11 or 12 captains, but we didn't want it to feel over the top. Upon hearing our upperclassmen speak to the Media and handle themselves like men is impressive.

University of North Carolina former basketball player Jalek Felton, was expelled from the University for sexual assault, according to records released by the school this past Thursday. The 6'3" guard was found to have violated UNC's policies on sexual violence or sexual assault. This information was made public following a four year lawsuit filed in the fall of 2016 by the DTH Media Corporation, WRAL, The Charlotte Observer and The Durham Herald Sun.

It's a sad day for the Florida State family, as they have learned that former men's basketball player, Michael Ojo has died of a heart attack. He was only 27 yr old, and was practicing in Serbia, where he played, and collapsed while running. An imposing presence at 7'1", 292lb, the Nigenian National had to work himself into the professional player he became, and he did just that.

If you thought Maryland losing seven players to the Covid-19 concerns, how about 34 student athletes at The Citadel skipping the first practice ? Among the group of players that did not report was FCS All American transfer running back Alex Ramsey.

As expected Ohio State missed out on heralded 2021 offensive line recruit Rocco Spindler, who just announced today that he chose to commit to Notre Dame. He had narrowed his top 3 choices down to Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State, the fact that he lives in Clarkston, Michigan, only about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, had a lot of people thinking that he would probably end up going to Michigan, to play for the strange coach Jim Harbaugh.

Ohio State is welcoming some new graduates. 27 Buckeye student athletes are set to receive their diplomas on Sunday in a virtual commencement ceremony, including a handful of current and former football and basketball players. Shaun Wade and Baron Browning are the two current members of the football team, and they are joined by two former Ohio State football players, Michael Bennett and Kevin Bell. Ohio State men's basketball player Kyle Young and former basketball player Trevor Thompson both earned their degree's as well.
