You agreed with the discussion that I heard yesterday, I haven't followed the Reds that closely in the past few years, I actually don't even know how long he has been the manager ?Geronimo wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2020 12:38 pm "H" No !!! 2020 Cincinnati Reds

,
Is Larkin still with the Reds organization in any way shape nor form ? I seem to remember a few years ago when his name was brought up a few times, but the Reds were struggling so bad at the time, that I wouldn't have blamed him for declining the job even it had been offered.
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Maybe the Reds best option to turn their struggling bullpen around is the man that started for them Wed night? Tejay Antone provided a generally strong 4 1/3 inn in his first major league start. But 2 runs scored by the Indians in the 5th inn were the difference in a 2-0 Tribe win. As poor as the Reds bullpen has been so far this season, the Reds hitters are not actually knocking the cover off of the baseball either.

Had a questionable pickoff called against them in a inning that they could’ve really done some damage.

Race to the finish of 60 games? Some one best put the brakes on the Cubs there running away with it at 10-2 start! This win one lose one don't get it ???
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
I don't even know what to say after seeing the score, 13-0 the Tribe over the Reds. I see that the Indians scored 10 runs in one inning. I don't want to mention the pitching, but the hitting is just as bad. After 13 games the Reds are already 5 games behind, but as of today they are not in last place, the poor Pirates have that honor. The Reds spent quite a bit of money in the off season to improve the team, is someone going to be held accountable before to long, probably not ?
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Trevor Bauer had another outstanding performance as he had 12 strikeouts over 6 innings. He allowed a 2-out solo home run on a hanging breaking ball in the 4th inning, and that was about the only mistake that he made, lowering his ERA to 0.93, while also becoming the first Reds pitcher ever to have over 30 or more strikeouts through his first 3 starts. Matt Davidson got the start at 1st base in place of Joey Votto, and hit a 408 foot three run home run. Nick Castellano added a 2-run HR in the 6th inning, his MLB National League leading 7th HR of the year.
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
If history of the Reds goes as always! Place a bet today that the Reds will lose today?
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Last season if they score 8 to 12 runs in one game they would lose the next ? 9 out of 10 times last season ! That's good money on the betting side!

Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
In the 13-0 loss to Cleveland last Thursday night, Matt Davidson started for the Reds at first base, then in the 8th inning he came in and pitched a scoreless inning, striking out pinch-hitter Mike Freeman and allowing a 2-out single. It was Davidson's 4th career pitching appearance. The 3 prior outings all happened in 2018 when he was a member of the Chicago White Sox.
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Reds manager David Bell said that second basemen Mike Moustakas is nearing a return to the field. Moustakas could possibly return as early as Tuesday of next week. Moustakas has only played in seven games so far, logging 5-hits in 21 at bats. If he can get healthy, the Reds can most certainly use his bat in the lineup.
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
In a roster move the Reds added some bullpen depth, as they recalled right-hander Joel Kuhnel from their alternate training site and optioned reliever Jose DeLeon to Prasco Park. De Leon will remain with the Reds in Milwaukee on the taxi squad.
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Reds center fielder Nick Senzel and reliever Pedro Strop suffered groin injuries this past Friday night, but they have different prognoses. Senzel was not in the lineup Saturday night, as Phillip Ervin started in center field, as Senzel is listed as day to day. Manager David Bell said that Strop's injury could very well shelve him for an extended period.
Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Anthony De Sciafani came into the 2020 season as the longest-tenured member of the Reds starting rotation, but also slotted as it's fifth starter. Though two starts, De Sciafani has epitomized that he's last but not least. He missed his first start with an injury but has been impregnable to opposing lineups since returning. The right-hander dealt 6 shutout innings Saturday night during the Reds 4-1 win over the Brewers at Miller Park. He has pitched 11 scoreless innings over his two starts. Eugenio Suarez made the job easier by hitting a three run home run in the first inning.
