Of course I missed the first period so......Johnson and Coleman scored for Tampa but Foligno answered back for the Blue Jackets. 2-1 Lightning after 1 period.

Columbus took advantage of poor puck management and penalties on the Lightning to score twice and take a 3-2 lead going into the final period. Plus, they will be on the power play as Tampa got yet another penalty with 1.4 left in the second period.

Stenlund tied the game at 2 early in the period, then Wennberg scored with 15.3 left to give the Blue Jackets the lead. Columbus got 22 shots on Vasilevskiy....Tampa just isn't playing well-credit Columbus plus some missed penalty calls.

Oh well....on to the 3rd period.

Overtime cometh....Columbus has outhustled Tampa since halfway through the first period. Then the Lightning get 2 goals in the final 8 minutes of regulation. MAN, what a crazy game hockey can be !!

Personally, Columbus played well. Yes they are young and I feel if management can keep the nucleus together, they will have deep runs in the playoffs. Gotta keep Torts as coach too!

Boston scored two goals in final 5 minutes of the second period and held on to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 to win the series 4 games to 1.

Haydn Fleury scored in the first period for the Hurricanes and they were holding their own until 2 costly penalties late in the second period. David Krejci scored a power play with 4:40 left in the period and as another Carolina penalty was ending....Patrice Bergeron slid one past the keeper with 3.5 seconds remaining in the period.

If things stay the same in the other series...Boston will battle Tampa Bay in the conference semi-finals.

It looks like the Colorado Avalanche will advance. They lead the Arizona Coyotes 6-0 late in the game. Two goals each for MacKinnon and Kadri for Colorado.

4-3. Jacob Markstrom stopped 36 shots for the Canucks as they go up 3 games to 2 in the series.
